Will you just shut up and listen to the advice on the internets!?

    LOL.

You could always try the new tire when you wear the old one out.

Re: Went in to pick up a pair of boots and left with a new bike

This is fun. I didn't get to do as much with the 900, since thigns were already on there when I bought the bike.

This time around, I installed the Sargent driver seat and pillion cover that was waiting for me when I got home from Arkansas.

I have to say, combined with the Vortex rear sets set 20mm back and 10mm up form stock, it gives me an entirely new riding position. I stay in the middle of the seat now, as opposed to the front with the stock pieces. The Sargent is pitched in the center and is wider toward the back.

I took it for a ride down to West Bridgewater this morning to get my 600 mile service (at 1200 miles) and slabbing was actually enjoyable.

I also did the extremely easy ram air flapper mod, which keeps the flapper into the airbox open at all times, instead of just above 5600rpm. This was put in place to help with noise emissions. With the flapper open at low rpm, it gains 1-2 hp and 3-4 lb feet of torque under 5500 rpms. All that was involved was to pull the vacuum hose from the flapper and plug it with a screw. (SOOO HARD) Thanks to Mondo for pointing me in the right direction.

    Pics of the seats:

    Still to go:
    • SS braided brake lines (possibly clutch line as well)
    • FP levers (waiting for FP to make them for the 1000rr)
    • BMC Racing filters (adds 2hp & 1.25 lb feet of torque just with the filter change)
    • Suspension tuning by GMD (early next spring)
    • Frame sliders

Yeah, and the filter replacement looks pretty easy as well.

May pick up an 03-04 600RR cowl. The cover came with the seat as a package. My son and/or Annalisa ride 2-up at times, so I need a rear seat.

Heres a condom. I figured since youre acting like a dick, you should dress like one too.

When can I go for a ride? Or do I need to hit a pothole on the VFR first?

It has a better contour. It's not straight across like the stock seat, leading your dingleberries right into the tank all the time.

Right above the R? Yes. Did that when I tied up a tank bag to the rear seat. It'll buff right out.
