I got to see this beaut in person today and we had a blast.

Once this rain lifts we will have to get a group together and help you get thru that break in period quick. I'm thinkning NH or VT next time around. We'll see if the lil 250 will actually make it.

first service is recommended for between 500-1000mi (which i thought was quite a large window, but that's what they say)... i scheduled mine when i bought the bike, because it's right in the meat of the season and the service dept is undoubtedly backed up -- it's set for this coming sunday (july 30th i think), which kinda sucks because it's supposed to be pretty crappy this week . with any luck the rain will hold off and i can rack up some early morning miles before work, or after if i'm not super exhausted.

i'm still at least 130mi short, though, so it's gonna be tough to get it over 500mi (i was hoping to have put on almost exactly 600 by the service, but the weather has been a bitch), since the saturday is supposed to be shitty was well. *sigh*

i'm probably going to hold off going WOT on her until 1000mi or so. after the initial break-in service, i'm gonna slowly give her more juice... i'll probably set soft redlines at like 7500 until 700mi, then 8500 until 800mi, then 9500 until 900mi, etc, and will probably only go like 3/4 throttle or so. we'll see though... i'm trying to keep her under load a lot, but within reasonable limits for break-in.
