So I'm headed to work this morning, 10 minute ride, and my sweatshirt is bunched up under my jacket and the wind is whipping right up my back. So i lean forward and pick my arse up off the seat, reach behind myself and adjust my sweatshirt under my jacket. Next thing I know i get pulled over and the cop is YELLING at me for stunting! He said i was standing up performing a stunt! I tried to explain that i was just adjusting my sweatshirt and he just cut me off and told me to save it. Luckily I only got a 'verbal warning' but he said he put in the system that I was 'performing a stunt on public roads' and that the next time I get stopped they can tow the bike... is it just me or does this seem a little crazy?
If i was honestly doing something as stupid as stunting on my ZRX I would certainly accept the consequences of my actions but now I am in the system as a 'stunter', not the reputation or label i want...

riding a ZRX should make you formally exempt from "stunting" tickets

dood your a dick how dare you do anything a cop might think was a stunt and how dare you not bow to him and praise his glory? you should just be happy he gave you a verbal warning cuz cops are wonderful heros and do no wrong.
aye cop fans did i get it right this time?? haha
Did you have both hands off the controls? To him, i may have looked like you were stunting. The safest thing to do would have been to come to a stop to fix it. However, this is real world and I understand your thought process, but you need to look at it from his point of view and what he saw. You also need to be familiar with your laws before you complain.
Also, what does it matter if he "put you in the system". If you don't stunt/wheelie/stoppie/burnout etc.. on public roads, you should have nothing to worry about.
How can he give you a verbal warning, then document, in some system, that you were stunting? Does that mean you have a "record" now without any due process?
Me thinks he was fucking with you.
No, that does not mean he has a criminal record without due process.
You got a warning for doing something illegal. I'll take being yelled at over a ticket any day. As far as being entered into a system, maybe the department keeps track of the warnings they issue.
I'm assuming your state has a law requiring you to be seated while operating a motorcycle.

If loud pipes save lives, imagine what learning to ride would do.
Sounds like you ran into a LEO on a bad day.
I do that all the time whether it's to adjust my
jacket or adjust my nuts![]()
Never been pulled over for it though.
well look at how many people ride with the left hand off the bar....that should be stunting to, but no one ever gets pulled for that. Can't work the clutch, blinkies, dimmer, horn or the useless pass button....with your hand on your side, lap, arm across the tank, etc.
ah well, take the yelling at and watch where you do that crazy stunts.
i just dont fuckin understand some people. how can you take any fuckin crap from anybody when you have done nothing wrong. fuck you whoever you are.. your mothers a cunt. take that and call it whatever you wanna call it.
"fuckit!"
I don't see anything in the CT motor vehicle statues specifically prohibiting motorcycle stunting (although I did only take a quick look). Reckless operation would definitely apply to actual stunting on a public road, but I find it hard to believe that adjusting your damn clothing would (well, unless you were doing it while in traffic and managing an intersection or something else that required both hands and your full attention).
Not that it would be the first time an LEO was misinformed of a particular law (my personal favorite is my father getting pulled over for what amounted to intent to use in-line skates, but that's another story).
There's no "system". Think about that - he cut you a break after you were stunting?? This would imply that he consciously decided to look the other way despite witnessing what he perceives to have been considerable threats to the safety of you and others?
Doesn't sound right to me. Sounds like the cop would be taking quite a career risk should you go back out an hour late to stunt and wind up killing or hurting yourself/others.
I wouldn't worry about it. Who the fuck knows.
