Aprilia RSV4R - V4 Secks
Yamaha R1 - Crossplane Secks
This is turning into a version of Scottie-Doc-attie.
The new R1 is phenominal. It gets things done going in and out of a turn. Plus it accelerates like nothing else you have ever ridden. I love the bike and am riding it fairly bone stock.

If you want a great bike with the lowest MSRP, go with the R1.
If you want to pay a little more for state of the art technology, a better warranty, and almost certainly better resale value, go with the BMW.
If you want a bike that never made it out of the showroom with its original motor and still cost thousands more than the other two bikes, go with the Aprilia.

Brandon, you were a great teacher
It's great that they offer a 3 year warranty, but you'll need nothing petty like that with an R1
I love the looks of the RSV4 but it seems to be following the footsteps of the SXV as far as engine reliabilty...from what i've read anyways
Yamaha
I vote R-1 because I would not want to rent a bike that already has engine recalls on it. If you're going to do an Ape, you need to do a 2011 model year.
That's the kicker... my heart pines for an RSV4R, I don't think there's a better looking bike made right now (at least not in major production). What I CAN say is, with the way they've handled the engine issues and a dealer such as Seacoast... it makes the whole reliability thing somewhat of a non-issue.
No I got nuthin. The bike, to me, seems like a good deal though. I guess the nice thing is you can get a test ride on the BMW or the Aprilia before you buy. Fuck Yamaha.![]()
I voted for the RSV4 because I figure i will never be able to ride one otherwise, just make sure it doesn't have a data logger so I won't be disheartend by my 17% throttle input.
Yeah, okay.
The so-called "reliability issue" is the exact opposite...like Scottie said, a non-issue. It wasn't even the whole engine, just one component. But this was already discussed in its own thread.
And as for the price? Go ahead and show me an S1000RR that you'll be able to buy for MSRP. All of the "loaded" ones I've seen cost more than the RSV4R.
But take what you want. I'd rather be the only guy on the block with an RSV4 as opposed to the dozen R1s around the corner.
What about the BMW s1000rr
In fact I will book the first rental day right NOW!
Fuck I'd have to vote Ape. She had me at Megan Fox.

Scott, just get the R1. Rsv4's are for fags.
