    r6 battery

i need a new battery for my r6 and was thinking of saving a little weight in the proscess. i dont have a car and i ride this thing every day, it is not a track bike but i want to do track days in the future and i would like to start droping some weight. i have heard good things about the full spectrum pulse batterys but is the 150$ worth the weight savings? are they durable enough?

Just get a Yuasa lead/acid. It's not worth the weight savings.

Definitely not worth it on a street bike for occasional track days. Without the strain of lights and accessories however, I have heard very good things about the 'mainstream' Lithium Ion batteries now available for race applications.

    Re: r6 battery

I use Shorai batteries in my track R6 and my street V-Strom (with accessories).

Sure the weight savings are nice...i guess...

While I have impulse bought items for my race bikes solely for weight savings, if that's the only reason and you're balking at the cost, I wouldn't bother.

That being said, the Shorai's that I have used are absolutely durable enough for daily riding. I put it in the street bike because I was tired of dead batteries in connection with some of my accessories that can be available when the bike is turned off. I get much better life and much quicker starting from the Shorai. They did recommend I go up a size from what would otherwise be their equivalent, because of the extra accessories. A couple guys in our shop are using them as well with well outfitted bikes with no problems.

I just put a Shorai in my streeted 690SMC. No problems yet, but only bought it cause I needed a battery and thorugh work this one cost as much as anything else. Weight savings dont make a difference in this bike.
