Looks awesome man. Very tasteful of you to use your daughter's birthday as your plate number.

If you use #319, or any other street poser for that matter, I keeeel you!

Not really. I actually don't care what you do with your bike.

There is a benefit, for me, in this thread. My street bike will be pulling double duty as a rain race bike this year. I didn't want to run my race # on the street, but wasn't sure that I cared enough to take them on and off between race weekends either.

I certainly care enough to take my AM plates on and put EX #116 plates on for the street though!

Maybe rocking the 116 on the street will help you to slow down.

Doesn't matter what number you run on your street or track day bike, It still looks silly.

    To me.

    Just for TD use? 116!

All kidding aside, if I were doing TDs and not racing and wanted #'s on my bike to make it easier for the CW's to identify, I'd try to pick a # that isn't any local racers #. You'd feel like a dick if you did something stupid and someone else got black flagged for it because the CW only saw the # on your bike. Especially if it was their race bike/race # on theirs, and you just picked it out of the air.

You can find a list of CCS (org. that LRRS runs under) rider #'s paid and confirmed for 2011 as of Jan 31, 2011 here: CCS Rider # list. Our region is NE.

Before I raced I felt the same way. This has NOTHING to do with me being a racer.

Agreed, But I don't agree that everyone should put plates and numbers on their street bike. The trackday orgs can do that if they think it would help.

Yes Oxx, since you are no longer a racer you are now a poser.
Just because you do 3 more races every year than me (0) doesn't make you a racer. Thats like saying the 4 games of basketball I played last year make me a basketball player.

I have an idea. Use all the energy you are wasting on this thread on making sure YOU aren't misrepresenting yourself and be done with it.

We all get your standpoint on this, Mike, it's crystal-clear. That said, voicing your opinion on the matter in 15 different ways isn't going to change anything....not even other people's opinions.

Just be done with it already.

the fact remains that it IS a good idea to have numbers on a bike if it turns a wheel on the track.

a street bike that isn't a replica, definite poseur status there.

Doc what if he put a pink plate on there and did the numbers in plaid? would you say the same thing? Less so, but yes

the fact remains that it IS a good idea to have numbers on a bike if it turns a wheel on the track. Agreed, it is a good idea... So why haven't all the track orgs went to it? If there that big of a need, how come it hasn't been made mandatory? This is the only argument the "other side" has. Well that and saying " I can do what I want and you can't stop me" or "Your opinion sucks" and pouting like a 3 year old.

a street bike that isn't a replica, definite poseur status there. Glad you agree.

I agree you can identify a bike better if it has numbers. The OPs numbers in the original pic were too small (as Pete pointed out) for that so it became a moot point. Then he posted rather normal looking expert number plates on his bike. I doubt the OP is doing it for safety or being able to be seen on the track.
