Put whatever you want on you bike. Who cares what you do to your bike. Just as long as it is mechanically sound.

Some TD photographers categorize your bike make/color and or Numbers on the bike into files. That is an easy way for them to group all of your photos together instead of you searching thru all the pictures. If your number is 13 they will put any bike with the the number 13 into a folder. This is a great feature that some offer.

    Re: "race" number q's

13 is actually my lucky number. 13 is allways been there for me: birthday, house number, phone number, etc. I'd love to take that number if I get race numbers.

    From wiki:

In Sikhism, the number 13 is considered a special number since 13 is tera in Punjabi, which also means "yours" (as in, "I am yours, O Lord"). The legend goes that when Guru Nanak Dev was taking stock of items as part of his employment with a village merchant, he counted from 1 to 13 (in Punjabi) as one does normally; and thereafter he would just repeat "tera", since all items were God's creation. The merchant confronted Guru Nanak about this, but found everything to be in order after the inventory was checked. April 13 also usually turns out to be Vaisakhi every year, which is the Sikh New Year and the major Sikh Holiday.
Several successful sports figures have worn the number 13. Ozzie Guillén, manager of the 2005 World Series Champion Chicago White Sox, has worn the number throughout his baseball career. Alex Rodriguez began wearing it upon joining the New York Yankees (three, the number he had previously worn, is retired by the Bronx Bombers to honor Babe Ruth). Dan Marino, an American football player known for passing the 2nd most yards in NFL history, wore the number 13. Basketball great Wilt Chamberlain wore the number 13 on his jersey throughout his NBA career. Also, FIBA rules require a player to wear the number in international competitions (only numbers from 4 to 15 could be worn, and as there are 12 players, one must wear 13); Chris Mullin, who wore #20 in college and #17 in the NBA, wore #13 for both (1984 and 1992) of his Olympic appearances. Shaquille O'Neal wore #13 in 1996; Tim Duncan wore #13 in 2004. Steve Nash is currently wearing it for the Phoenix Suns. Yao Ming wore it in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Mats Sundin, Pavel Datsyuk, Bill Guerin, and Michael Cammalleri wear 13 in the NHL. One of Iceland's all time best handball players, Sigurður Sveinsson, wore the number 13 when he played for the national team. In association football, both Gerd Müller and Michael Ballack have favoured the number 13, among others.
In Italy, 13 is also considered to be a lucky number, although in Campania the expression 'tredici' (meaning 13) is said when one considers their luck to have turned for the worse.
Colgate University also considers 13 to be a lucky number. They were founded in 1819 by 13 men with 13 dollars, 13 prayers and 13 articles. (To this day, members of the Colgate community consider the number 13 a good omen.) In fact, the campus address is 13 Oak Drive in Hamilton, New York, and the male a cappella group is called the Colgate 13.
In the Mayan Tzolk'in calender, trecenas mark cycles of 13 day periods. The pyramids are also set up in 9 steps divided into 7 days and 6 nights, 13 days total.

However, "666" is considered the number of the beast. I was wrong to say that it's an unlucky number, even though many people would consider it to be.

Here is the thing guys...Tropicoz did ask a legitimate question and he did say that he does not want to steal someone's numbers.

IMHO, it think it would look cool for him to put some numbers ( a la motogp) on his bike. That way he does not take away from the local racers - as far of the perception of him being a racer is concerned - and he would have the numbers that he so desires.

Personally, I'll just get my plates and I have my numbers.

If you want numbers then put numbers. STT requires numbers. If you already have them then you don't have to think of one or write one on blue tape with a marker that won't be legible anyway.
Put white, black, blue, purple whatever background you want.
Imo it not only makes it easier for corner workers and photographers but control riders and coaches as well.
I think black background with white numbers wouldn't confuse anyone to think that you race but you will still have numbers to identify you.
Hell, put a 4 digit number on. That will fuck everyone up

Honestly I give 2 shits what someone does to his bike, My opinion is that you are a poser if you put numbers on your bike and do not race. Even worse if you do it to your street bike.

Seriously? You think a street rider with race numbers on his bike is ok? Not poser? Doesn't give you "douche chills"?

I can understand a race replica paint job like a Rossi Replica or Stoner Replica if you are a fan but putting race numbers on your bike and picking a number that isn't used by your local club org? Why not just become a racer.

    Seriously?

And how does this opinion make me a douche

You wanna know what I think? I think "who the fuck cares?" and then I move on.

Hey, it's not something I would do so I won't do that.

This is along the lines of seeing a rider who wraps his bike in black and white striped fur and then you (or anyone) coming along an bitching at him because it's not actually a zebra.

And didn't your mother teach you that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?

I just don't see what the issue is. NESBA requires a number on all trackbikes. Are they posers for riding more in one season then most people race AND ride trackdays?

Just let him do his thing, it's not hurting anyone and even if some think he's a poser well, who fvckin cares. It's not like he asked what ANYONE thought.

At least he's not squiding around the streets hauling ass like a moron. He's riding the track.

Your opinion makes you a douche because THEY'RE NOT EVEN RACE NUMBERS. It's just a little while background with little black numbers on them. Seriously Mike, why the fuck are you so butt hurt over this?!?!?! Fucking let it go. There's nothing in this world that says YOU are allowed to have a number on your bike but non racers can't. Get over yourself.

You seem like the one getting riled up Pete. Why are you so defensive?

I am not "butt hurt" Nor am I going to lose any sleep over this thread. I am voicing an opinion.

My apologies to the OP if I misinterpreted that these are not regular number plates.

I never said people cannot put number plates on their bike. Where did that come from?
