    Rider etiquette?

    Rider etiquette?
Today while riding home from work I had an “interesting” communication with another motorcyclist. I had come up on a slower rider and followed at about 30 feet behind at forty miles an hour. This was plenty of room and I even did the opposing side of the lane. At no time did I crowd this rider and after three miles at a red light he signaled for a right turn, I signaled for a left turn. The other rider was in the far right side of the lane and I took the left side of the lane waiting for the green light. I smiled and said how do, the other rider said hey then followed with “when did this road get to be two lanes?” I left and thought shit, what a prick! I saw he was looking in his rear view so I flipped em off.
Question is did I crowd him? Maybe he should have stayed in the center of the lane so no one would pull up next to him? Should I have followed him taken his key and tossed it in a sewer drain or ridden behind him so I could tell him he’d be a lot safer in his car or tell him you’re supposed to meet the nicest people on a Honda, why isn’t he one?

    what would Kham do?

    Rider etiquette?

If i'm at a stoplight on the bike & another rider rides up beside me i'll give em a head nod & a "what's up?".... But I know that's not the case for some riders so if i come up on a rider already at a light i'll make eye contact in their mirror & give em a head nod before pulling up beside em.

I wouldn't have flipped him off though cuz that just confirms in his mind that you were an asshole.

You were taking a left, he was taking a right. I don't see a problem there. Cars do it too. Not like you were both going straight, and you pulled up to beat him off the line.

That is just like going on 495 and hitting gridlock.
People get pissed at me riding the right breakdown lane to the next exit so I can backroad it out of there.

Is it illegal? Am I willing to pay the price if po-po gives me a ticket .. (look and listen carefully Kham) HELL YEAH!

Most of the time they ignore me as I am exiting.

Some cagers though get totally bent ... I just do a circle around the side of my head
indicating that I think they are a little nuts and just proceed.

I do the same thing to left lane vigilantes when they get bent cause I passed
them on the right. The left lane is for passing, not doing 55.

I hate to split hairs And Hope you know I'm only bringing it up to bust your ballz but.... If you look in your driving book it says that at no time may you break the speed limit, not even to pass someone.. So yes the left lane is for going 55, if the person in the right is doing 54 or less..

Fuck him. No crowding there. He was prolly new and you prolly made him a little nervous so instead of being the "slow new guy you got stuck behind" he prolly figured he's just be a prick. When I was new I always thought that people were too close to me cause the mirrors on bikes can be deceiving.

WWKhamD? He would have never made it to the stoplight cause he would have been pulled over by all the racist cops sitting at the end of his street waiting to pull him over and ticket him for ABSOLUTELY no reason cause he's a saint.

Or if you pulled up to beat him off, he'd probably be at a rest stop, not at an intersection.

He probably knows that you work at MTR, so he treated you like the counter help treats its customers.

Thank God the service manager is a pretty decent guy.

Pulled up next to a guy on a GSXR this morning at the light at the begginning of Storrow, gave a nod, no problem. We both knew the safest place to be in rush hour traffic in the 5 to2 lane crush is at the front where you can pull away safely. Side note, I got dropped like I was hot, a 91CBR1000 is not even in the same remote league as a 2007 GSXR1000, I might as well have been driving a car!

lol sounds like you need to learn how to launch that thing....or maybe it is because of the weird fuel stage thing they are doing your bike has more hp and torque....

I dont think you did anything wrong, but I dont pull up next to other riders I dont know when approaching a stoplight. I will pull up on the side, but stay behind. IF they wave or not I might pull up next to them more
