Well I think my rear would have lasted the same as my front if I didn't replace it when I got a screw in it that's why I asked how many miles on the street bikes, since track time will wear out tires much faster. But it seems like 10k is average for people that don't go nuts on the street.
Rears don't last as long as fronts.
Track time in general only wears out the edges, the tire could still be streeted for thousands of miles. Track time allows you to get your money's worth out of street tires by even-ing out the wearHeat cycles can come into play as well though.
The average mileage for sportbike tires is definitely NOT 10k. More like 4 or 5.

I've gotten around 10k on my front Pilot Power. They have been showing an uneven wear pattern on them. And they are deffinitly down to the wear bars.
On the other hand the rear ones have lasted only about 4500-5000.
I have no trackdays under my belt....I'm such a pussy

Stock Bridgestone Deathwings on my V-Strom have a little over 8000 miles on them and are being replaced in the next week or two. The rear has a big flat spot in the middle thanks to the 3000-mile motorcycle tour of the Canadian Maritimes I did last month (relatively heavily loaded, lots of straight-line riding), but it still handles okay. The front is more evenly worn but feels a bit squirrelly.
I've got Avon RoadRiders on my Triumph which are wearing quite well. I think they've got at least 3000 miles on them now and look like they're no more than half worn. Also, they're wearing very evenly, so the profile is still nice and round.

Just what I have experienced...
Last set on my Duke Dunslops 208RR 6400 miles rear tire completely spent used the whole thing including rolling the edges over. Rear tire down to nothing, front tire scolloped just like every other dunlop I have ever used. (Yes I use the correct tire pressures) Dunslops suck for street tires..... IMHO..
Mulitle sets of Pilot powers on my RC51 got about 3500-4200 rear. 7500- 8000 on front. Front tires on Michelins never scolloped on me! Handled increadible!!!
Last set of Pilot Power CT2's (RC51)had 2500 miles and still had another 1000-1500 miles remaining or so. Best tire ever used!!!! Superior handling, but still not enough life! Great for a track day tire! Or aggresive street riding if you dont mind the shorter life span. Well worth it IMHO!!!!!
I just put on the Pilot Road II on My Duke last night, only took a short non aggressive ride so no oppinion on them yet. Front tread pattern looks odd. But it's not always looks that matter.. Thank god!
Mileage will vary depending on your tire pressure, riding style, and road conditions/track conditions. Hotter weather=hotter pavement will wear your tires quicker but help traction creating a stickier surface. Worth the sacrifice I think..
I have not had any good experiences with any Dunlops tires except race tire I have used for track days. I have had great reviews using all michelin tires! I also used a Perreli set on my YZF600 years ago and recall those handling very well with a good life span. Too long ago to remeber the details of how long they lasted or series tire?? No Scalloping with those either...
