I,m about to do my front brakes and would be willing to do photos of the whole process and explain what i,m doing if ya want
Good idea!
I'm always open for stuff like that....
In order for it to be posted on the Tech site, just EMail the stuff to me, or I guess Josh, or Jay can open a thread too.
I'll work up something to do with the fork/valving/spring aspect of it.
Are you gonna take it as far as blowing the pucks outta the calibers?

The only "intuitive" interface is the nipple.
Is it really neccessary to strip and clean brake every season?

Potato-Potato-Potato-Potato...
They have brakes but the front never wears out cause the riders are smart enough to know that using the front brake will flip your bike!

Ok then, You do the caliper break-down, I'll do the front suspension. I won't be able to provide pics, because I don't have the "Special Tools" needed to break down my "catridge type" front forks.Originally posted by zombie
yep all the way down as I like to inspect the pucks and walls for any build up of crap and it prevents them from sticking..
Hmmm, I think RYE has some forks off a bike, maybe we can get some pics of those.....
I will, with the help of my CAD/CAM, provide drawings and such. I'll cover both cartridge, and conventional.
Just EMail Me the pics you come up with, and the text, and I will put it in the Tech section for ya Mick, or you can add it as a reply..I opened a new thread for you..

I'm having my bike re-valved in 3 weeks at GMD Computrack boston. How about some stuff on revalving and setting static sag in the tech report. Maybe the importance of using the right fork oil and spring rates up front. Lord knows that the bikes typically come from overseas ready for a 165-170lb rider. Just throwing some ideas out if you get a brain freeze.
I like the fork/suspension idea. I will offer up my forks for the USD portion of the explanation. Shit, I'll buy some new seals and maybe we can do a play by play breakdown of replacing fork seals and oil. I know more than a fair share of you guys and gals enjoy wheelies! Therefore, your forkseals are taking a bit more abuse than intended.

You talkin' to me Mark? I guess I can get some valves too, but that gets a bit more pricey.
