Stock rear size is 130/80-18. (1984 Kawasaki Ninja 900)
I know limited benefits are had by running a different size however I'm also thinking of fitting onto the rim correctly.
Concerns over running a 140/70-18?
Or, perhaps a 150/70-18?
The 130 to 140 would be a bsic jump but not sure about the 150.
Thanks for the input.

3" is the width according to a chart that shows a 130/80-18 sized tire.
I may be dating myself, but I used to race a 1984 Ninja 900. For that one year it was far better than anything else around for production racing.
I remember using a Michelin HiSport which was both wider and lower profile than the stock 130. Could have been a 140/70, worked great on the "old" Loudon track. Don't be afraid to go 10mm wider than stock.
you may run into clearance issues with the swing arm and or chain if you go to much wider.
It will probably also slow your turning down which may or may not be a good thing.
but, that is just the layman knowledge that I have, others will probably be better versed than i.
I have spoken again with some folks in the UK that have gone up in size for the rear tire.
The 140 will fit no problem and some have even managed to get a 150 out back with limited clearance.
In thinking this over a bit more I think I'll stock with the stock size out back.
