I have to agree with this one. I don't normally object to wheelies, if done in a controlled setting, but I have witnesses some brainless ones.

If it's set before the ride starts that it's a "wheels on the ground" ride, then it should remain that way.

I just got back from my Court hearing in Brattleboro,VT on 9/20/07

My case got dismissed because the State of Vermont couldn't prove beyond a doubt that I was the one that was targeted by their laser.

They didn't have a clue who they targeted!

I was so prepared for this hearing & didn't even need to show my GPSR print out of what speed I was traveling at.

A lost days pay & $35.00 in gas to get there & back, but it was well worth it!

I wish you all would have fought your ticket....

I don't think you get points in vermont, when I got a ticket some years back in NH, I didn't get points, I just didn't get any taken off for my safe driving year..?? I didn't get a surcharge..

It was best that you didn't contest your ticket Steve because they did recognize you. They said something about this guy wearing perforated leathers & a T-Shirt & hard nipples or something like that.

Seriously now, most people don't fight their tickets because of the time out from work, possible lost pay, & the hassle of treking it to the Court.

The lost pay for me for the day wasn't a big deal, I get payed shit where I work. But the fine would have been a weeks pay for me, and my Wife would have probably tried to pull the plug on my riding ever again.

So I was really fighting for my right to ride more than anything else.

even if you don't fight them, but just show up in court and say "no contest", they'll generally drop the fine down by half or so... i always go to court on them. can't recall ever having to pay full initial fine.

Not in that Court on that day, everyone that was before my case ended up paying full fines plus Court costs.

Before I went into the courtroom, they were asking me if I wanted to not have a hearing & all they were offering "plea bargain" was I could pay the fine but not pay court costs. What a bargain!

Apparently you schooled that officer bad enough he went back and did his homework before my appearance. He claimed there was a 6 bike pack, riding in staggered formation all at the same speed. He estimated us at 85mph, got LIDAR confirmation of the lead bike yet cut us a break by only writing us up for 74mph. Needless to say I couldn't convince the judge that I was at a different speed than the lead rider. I lost. I probably would have had much better odds if I'd have been at my original court date last week when you were there. The extra week I gave the officer to re-prepare was all he needed to convince the judge I was lucky I wasn't taken away in hand-cuffs that day.
