Couldn't make it to the races Friday, but managed to get there Saturday. Had an incredible time seeing some old faces and getting to hang out. I was hoping to meet more new faces and see more familiar faces, but everyone was so damn busy and everybody else was trying to stay dry.
Big thanks to Baby Jesus OreoG for hookin' a brother up with some discount passes. It was great seeing Paul & FINALLY meeting Kerry, seeing Brian, Peter K, etc.
For what the Classic turned out to be and with the weather, Big Shirl & I still had a great time. And OreoG got me to drink bourbon for the first time in 35 years! I wish we could have made it Sunday but we had to skedaddle early for a memorial service.
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?

Do you want to talk about what happened during qualifying? Or do you want to talk about the race?
The incident between Shane & Brandon happened during qualifying. Paul's comment was in reference to the race.
I'm not saying that money had NOTHING to do with the qualifying incident as it obviously it brought a lot of new faces into town that otherwise wouldn't have been there... but Paasch was doing what Paasch and a ton of other racers do EVERYWHERE in the MotoAmerica series. Shane, not used to being the guy getting followed, but being one of the top dogs at Loudon, got pissed and lost his shit.
And that had FAR more influence on the qualifying situation than did money.

Shane was just slapping Paasch's ass last weekend at ovrp, so I'm sure they are "fine" with eachother.
I also think a big purse not only brought in bigger fish, but also ramped up the aggression. And Paul's comment about people throwing themselves on the ground over and over again without making some adjustments to how they are riding is the perfect example of what a big purse does. Danny Weims trying to get back out there with a hole in his arm and his bike not at 100% shows that perfectly. I don't necessarily blame him and know that is racer mentality, but can't picture him doing that if it was just a regular, non-paying nemrr race.

At least one bike went out again with a busted rear brake too.
