got my K-Pipe out today, first ride of the year, rear tire was soft, fired right up as if it was already warmed up, no choke, oiled the chain and rode about an hour or so, just around local town roads, I hafta get a different saddle
Doing the old 3-hole change on the Street Glide after work. REALLY hoping to get out for a spin when I'm done.
I rode my K-Pipe to physical therapy today, been going twice a week for a couple months now for my range of motion with my right hip and lower back pain. With a goal of being able to throw my leg over my motorcycles, couple months ago, I needed about a 6" step up, proud to say, I can do it from ground level now (barely). The past 3 sessions included throwing my leg over a beach ball that was sitting atop a 5 gallon pail, almost identical to my K-Pipe & V-Strom seat height. Today we went out in the parking lot and practiced on and off my bike, standing in slightly different positions, another 20 reps
Small local loop. Tons of bikes out.
I accepted a new job and will be taking the week off 5/20-5/24
I have to be home morning and evening to do Dad things, but will definitely be riding a few days this week weather permitting. Most likely will be trolling around the Vanilla Bean. I’ll post here when it’s more specific, but certainly wouldn’t mind some company if anyone wants to take a hooky ride.

Ive been taking a different bike out every day. Took the hawk up to ny the other day. The gsxr is still trapped in the garage surrounded by muddy fields and driveways. The ironhead I've been doing local rides around vanilla bean just cause it's terrible on the highway so I stay local. Nsr I've been tuning so mostly just terrorizing Sturbridge with it. Braaap.

:yawn: Somehow, and not really sure why, dragged my lazy ass out of bed at 5:45 and was on the road at 6:15 for what used to be referred to as "dawn patrol" on the other riding forum. I hate mornings, but had a great ride, no traffic & minimal animals (1 bird off the shoulder & a close call with a sleepy skunk) got in about 110 miles of CT back roads. No pics, no breakfast, no stops :shredder:
27mi of gnar at October Mountain on Sat, ended up camping as well, what a bizarre little campground. :spit: despite the backside of Felton being closed 'indefinitely' (Felton > October > Switchback), we still rode it, was clear and a little drier than usual. we also stumbled upon a bit of what i assume was the RocktoberFast course from end of June, saw a few signs still up.

Knocked out a quick 1300 miles before ‘winter’ hits. Weather was great, only used the heated gear at night.
Ignored signage on PCH and learned road closed really means road closed, only setback of the trip.

Hit some nice roads in Maine today and planning a bigger day tomorrow.
I rolled my K-Pipe & AK550 into my barn yesterday and hooked up battery tenders, I have become a wuss, had my doc sign a handicap plate application too

That'll probably be it for the Thruxton for the season. Managed to get 2,000 miles on it while also riding the Tracer 9GT for longer trips.
Took the supermoto out to north Malibu. PCH and many roads remain closed from the fires and subsequent mudslides. It’s amazing how many homes were impacted by the fires this far north. Lots of dirt and debris in the roads so bike choice was spot on and made for a great day.
Note: We were respectful of any work in progress; traffic was extremely light.
Humvees and police blocks remain in place in severely impacted areas.

Neptune’s net! pretty cool, I’ve never ridden motorcycles out there but I recognized it and just looked it up on google maps…I’ve surfed right across the street (at the well known spot called county line)
with the fires out there i assume they will be dealing with mudslides for a while without the vegetation to hold the soil in place...wonder how long will it take to grow back?
Got caught in action riding Kenn’s old Speed Triple. First time out in the new RST gear, I really like it. Sparked a big debate on modular helmets and sport riding…and how I don’t clean mine enough.
