You guys are probably gonna get hit with rain because of the storm passing you by on the coast. One more reason to head our way to get away from the crappy weather...

Springfield:

Pittsfield:
Saturday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. Calm wind becoming west between 4 and 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Was actually considering this before the rain started to lurk in the forecast. Since I really need new rubber, I don't feel confident enough to ride on twisties in the rain. (twisties, meaning road, not twisting meaning miss) Hopefully, I'll drag my ass out of central MA to visit my hometown area (born & rainsed in Chicopee) soon.

I regret to inform you that I will not be able to make it to your ride and BBQ. I was really looking forward to meeting you and going a ride with you but there has been a death in the family and I will be in MA for the weekend but for a funeral and wake. I am sorry for the late notice but I, unfortunatly, will not be able to attend.

Do you have a link to that, please? Because that's VERY different from what weather.com is stating. That description you gave is for Sunday.

Now weather.com shows little icons for tomorrow mix of clouds and sun all day. Pittsfield/Berkshires area cloudy and sun, barely any chance of rain.

You guys do what you want, but we got 80 unfrozed patties of hamburgers, and 50 of chicken breasts. I can't froze them again and will have to trow away everything we don't use.

I'll be pissed if I don't see a drop of rain tomorrow and people bailed out!

I never go by weather.com since it tends to differ, sometimes by quite a lot.

Just remember that it's the 5 minute rain that's less safe to ride in. That's the time when the rain brings the oil on the road to the surface.

It's actually safer to ride in a downpour.

I look at it this way, I have to get up early to make it to the BBHOF by 9:30. (leave Blackstone at 8:15ish, so get up at 7:30ish) If the forecast looks ok and I don't see wet ground at home, then there's a chace I'll ride. I'm not a priss, I actually got caught in the rain last night.

So, I'm a maybe.

I think thats what Alex and I are going to do. We're going to wait till the last minute to see how the weather is Saturday morning.

I'd rather ride in a downpour then a sprinkle because of what 97bladerider said, expecially riding twisties!

Well it's a group ride, and there's gonna be some slower riders...if I was alone with just a few other riders, I'd go much further up in VT because the pace would be faster... it's gonna be for another time.

It's right off the highway, 495 south to exit 25 route 20, make sure you take 20 west, then as you come off the ramp it is right there

I think BadBoyBilly and I are gona bail on this. All the weather places seem to think that it will be nice out until the afternoon then it will turn to thunderstorms and rain throughout the night and into tomorrow. I don't mind a little rain but a whole afternoon of it would be miserable. Now if I had some rain gear and new tires that would be a different story. Here is the radar forcast for 2PM.

Weather report getting worse. Cheese - you get my text? I think I am going to be out. They are saying 70-90% chance of thunderstorms now out west, some severe. I just got off the phone with Veronique, she doesn't want to cancel since some are already on their way and the food will spoil for the bbq. I am planning on heading out to the BBQ later, so hope to catch you guys there! :-)

I got a message from Dave on here, he left his home from RI (I think, or is he in NH) and he's on his way, trailering his bike here...I couldn't live with myself to have him drive all the way here and tell him the ride is off.

Besides, I have quiet a few other people coming too and tons of food that will go to waste.

Who knows...maybe it will not be that bad and will just be light rain like it often does. Fuckin weather man.

Not quite RI but close. :-). I have only seen a little mist from time time. But it does look VERY ominous out here. Who knows, it is rains too much I guess we could always head back
