Its not about being ashamed, its about incriminating a rider.
All the accidents from Sat where due to the horrible road conditions, sand and other debris, of course.
But, the police did come and they do monitor these riding sites to know about upcoming rides for speed traps...etc.
Anyways there where no citations given, so lets leave it at that.
Insurance companies can get any pics if the police have them too.
I'm not trying to sound like an ass about it, just giving a couple good reasons why they are not posting accident scene evidence on any public site.
I am assuming there were no shots of speedometers prior to the accident, or video... Just still images after the fact.Originally posted by Nazo

Nazo which one were you from Sunday? On the blue R1? In front of the girl on the RC who crashed? Didn't you go into the debris first because of the horrible road conditions?

Please forgive my frankness, but that sounds like a load of horseshit to me. How would posting pics of the road incriminate people? And as far as incriminating this rider, who is it? This sounds like one giant coverup or something.Originally posted by Nazo

Yup.
Yeah that was me alright, I squirelled my way out of that one. I thought I was going down too. That was definately a tricky turn especially with all the sand.

Everyone that went down seems to be really good health wise, the bikes can be fixed quickly and everyone will be back riding again. Thats all that matters!
Pictures don't mean anything! This was an unfortunate event! If anyone wants to see the crash site go ride out there and look for the paint on the guardrail!![]()

I'd like to give a little "Thank You" to the Charlemont fire department for doing their jobs when it counted most.
Also a big thanks to the State and Local police officers who were fair and helpful without a hint of "sportbiker angst". It's good to know people like that are around just in case.

i may be out of line here, but i think "all that matters" would be what people learned from these events (aside from everyone being OK, of corse). i havn't seen *one* post yet asking how these crashes MAY have been avoided or may be avoided in the future. it sounds like there was some probblems "with horrible road conditions". if this is true, then people were prolly going too fast or riding too close for a proper response. the problem then was not the road, it was the people on the road. sure, some road conditions are unavoidable. however, most CAN be avoided provided that people are being mindful of what is going on around them. can anyone give a clear account of what did happen and how things could / may have ended up differentlly? seeing that no one was terriblly hurt this could be a great 'teachable moment' for all of us.Originally posted by skiierx

There was sand in that corner????I didn't see any! At least there wasn't when I went through it at #$ MPH !!!!
Or just didn't see or feel it?

An fortunate incedent indeed, shit happens, people go down. Just happy everyone is fine now! The others that followed poor Erin down might have had a target fixation issue or needs to work on Braking in corners?? I dont know?? I was not there. I sped passed the group leaders 5 or so bikes about a mile into 8A, because I know that road well and felt I wanted to ride it faster. & I did tare that road up, only to be very upset when I turned around and found the horrible incedent... What a bad feeling when you just know someone went down in your group, never mind THREE BIKES! .. My stomach was one big knot. I was torn up when I pulled up and saw Erin the poor girl on the ground in pain. I was concerned and upset. Thank god everyone is in good heath.. Lets get back out there guys and gals and show that road whos boss!
This is the second time I have seen three bikes down on the same road!!!! S.D. - RevHappy remember that day?? The first one was my first big ride with the SRNE group back in 1998 or 99? Three bikes followed each other down in the same corner. (Huge sand pile in the middle of the corner, but not in the apex..) Different corner than this crash, but they all went in the same spot in another corner, and all of them managed to avoid each other as well! One bike was unridable, the other two were beat up pretty bad...
Get your spirits up people, fix those machines and lets ride again soon, up until the crash we were having an awesome ride! We all rode well together! And all of you are super people to hang with!![]()

When I read that someone had gone down I thought how could that be, I wasn't on the ride. Glad to hear everyone is doing ok. I'm sure the pictures don’t do the scene justice. Get back on the road everyone, this from someone who has gone down on a group ride. My first group ride. I was taking the experienced rider course through the state. The entire class was about cornering. Loved doing the u-turns on a sports bike.
Really, it's good no one was really hurt that bad. Good luck.

I did see some sand/gravel, but it was more sparse. I had to tip the laptop monitor to see it though, looked like some 1/2 pea sized gravel but it was thereOriginally posted by Half Squid

Bikes are replacable, people aren't. Its allways said, but is never realized untill something like this hits close to home. Thoughts of "what if" and "I wonder" compound things greatly. Its only a matter of time if your riding.

At least there wasn't when I went through itYou see it in the picture which is after the incedent Greg... Also maybe myself, Jamie, and Clayton were all lucky to avoid the sand?? Maybe a car kicked some dirt up in the corner after I passed the group? Or maybe some got kicked up when Nazo went off roading ??? Like I said I was way ahead and have no idea what happened?? Nazo may be able to clearify why he went off roading... What was the event in the corner as you lived through it Nazo?? Dont worry I highly doubt any cops are reading anything on here. Except for one or two friendly riders that double as popo.. They are on are side, kind of! Right Mike?

I guarantee some people on this ride learned a valuable lession!
My comment "thats all that matters" was meant towards the previous posts about people only interested in the carnage! It was not a fun moment to go through. Thats all I need to say.
Erin is doing good, went over and saw her tonight and she seems to be feeling a lot better. The bike needs some work though ( a little more then we thought). Her shifter might be bent just before it enters the engine. Her insurance company will be out within the next week to give her an estimate for repairs. So we'll see from there.
James, how are you doing?
Jamie

If anyone involved needs any help whatsoever. Let me know. I'm still not working and have lots of free time. My car is back outta the shop tomorrow. I can do whatever, just ask
Need coffee delivered? ask. anything, not necessarily bike related.
I've been there, its not fun. Not even with pain meds via IV.

I'm good. Wrist is sore and foot is bruised/sprained, which makes walking difficult - but small potatoes compared to what could have happened.
Those pics don't do that corner justice - it's much tighter in real life. hehe.
Thanks everyone for the concern - Is Erin as sore as I am?? Man - I feel like one big bruise.
Hey. I just joined on here, and I wanted to thank everyone who was at the scene that helped out with everything this last weekend and who are currently helping me out with getting the bike back in action. (This is the girl who made out with the guard rail) The support was/is phenomenal, and I hope that I can repay it someday (although not through another accident...I was thinking more like some beers or parts or something) I look forward to getting back on the road and hope that the other two riders are doing well. I know one of them was pretty seriously injured but pulled a hardcore pegless ride back home. Thanks again and I'll see you on the road soon!
And:
James, I just saw your post as well. My best wishes for a speedy recovery on your part!! I'm pretty sore, but it should be fine in a few days. And I'm hobbling around like Quasimodo. Got some scrips from the doc, so hopefully that will help. Maybe we can both be dweebs and show up at bike night at Motomarket in cars on Thursday?I'm sure we can get a stoppie out of those four-wheeled beasts yet...
And yes, the lense must have been screwed up on the camera cause that turn was WAY tighter in real life.![]()

I can give you these reasonably cheap, or loan them to you till you buy new parts with the ins. pay out.... What ever it takes to get you rolling again fast! I just like to go into turns wide and then apex really hard into them to get low. This time I just went too fast in second gear and couldn't take the turn hard enough, I didn't hit any gravel. It was completely my lack of knowing how the turn radius was. I went completely off the road though fending off the guardrail with my foot. I definately want to hit that road again though.
