Superhero - Stay with them and the bike and end my day
Concerned - Check on them and stay until help arrives
Unaffected - Once they're walking, I'm gone
Bemused - Giggle as I ride by and then leave
Naked - Beet is
Yup. Learned that the hard way a few times now. Each time I think it'll be different, some asshole ruins it for everyone trying to be a show-off.
Dual-sport/touring I'm ok riding with strangers.
Spirited group rides? I like to know I got any one of a certain group on my 6. You all know who you are.

I've stopped and helped at every crash. Except at the Dragon. You'd never make it through. Always stopped if nobody else wasn't already helping though.

I dont group ride, If the extent of our relationship is some banter on the internet odds are I wont ride with you.
I do ride with friends however.
I would absolutely stop and do whatever I can do to help a rider. crashing sucks.
and lets face we are all tools in a way

so half the time, most of you don't know (personally) the people you're going on a group ride with?
I'm of the camp that I only ride with people I know AND trust now. That is WHEN I actually ride. The extent of my riding this year will be mostly commuting anyhow...
However, I was the one that ruined a group ride years ago with a horrific accident. Everyone that was with us stopped and hung out except for one partial stranger that didn't wanna stick around long. Even the Harley dude we passed some distance back stopped, albeit just to laugh & point. I'll NEVER forget that fucker, his image is still burned deeply into my mind...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
I was on my first group ride last fall and a guy had to go wide on the first turn going over the gap on 17. i have no idea how he walked away from it because the road was lined with trees, and he picked the only 15' section where there was a break in the trees! The entire group stopped and helped him up and pulled his bike out. (I learned the importance of wearing the right riding gear that day!)
If it were to ever happen again, i would always stop and hang out as long as i could / thay wanted me to. Mainly because i would want someone to stop for me. I feel that owning a motorcycle is a pack that we all make to support eachother. Kinda the same thing as why we wave to other bikers. I dunno i just believe you help someone if you can, it's the right thing to do.

What night is Burlington BIKE NIGHT?!?!?!?!?!

Jim and I were riding and Jim helped meHe even called Keith and Alicia and got my bike into their truck and they brought it to my work a couple days later. Jim was with me the whole time and came to the hospital after to make sure I was okay. Granted I'm having his child but still

Once "their " walking
They're would be plural, meaning more than one
Unless it's a biker with a passenger...........
The poll uses "they're" which is more correct than "their" but still a compromise from the truly correct usage which would be "he's".
When the gender is unknown, the male is used. But we've gotten lazy about this in the name of gender equality.
Any other questions?
There will be a quiz!
Considering I've witnessed and been involved in many crashes... I'd be the "superhero". My last wreck.. my buddy came.. stayed with me... took me to the bar after once the cops took my bike for "investigation", etc. The time before that... everyone stayed at the crash site til I was loaded in the ambulance... mind you this must have been a good couple hours. Then they followed me to the hospital in North Adams, MA.. stayed there for another few hours ... then once the ambulance took me from N. Adams to Hartford... they went home as my bike was taken care of and I was in the ER awaiting surgery and had company at the hospital too.
Long story short, if I were to be in a group and someone crashed or even broke down... I'd make sure all loose ends were tied before moving on.
The best advice I’ve ever been given is to not forget where you came from.
In all my years riding I haven't been on a group ride with a crash.....![]()
"TheOtherSean" use to have a spreadsheet made up keeping track of how many there actually are. I think he lost count as did I. Much too many bad days in my past.
Misfortune, riding with the wrong groups sometimes, others making bad decisions, and cars making poor choises which we get the worst of... Too many ways for Shit to happen..
Always keep a emergency contact either in your wallet or on your phone.
There was a thread two years ago with what to title the phone # for a emergency contact. I do not think this is the best way, because in a crash your phone could get lost or damaged beyond use. I say keep it either in your wallet, or with you registration, health care card or licence. Somebody is going to be looking for those anyways.
