Hey all. I'm active duty Navy stationed on the USS Constitution. I've been here (Mass.) for about a year and a half but just found this site recently. Since I don't really know anyone and my schedule usually doesn't permit rides with you all I thought I would offer a NESR USS Constitution Tour. I am the events coordinator so I can get up to 80 of you in on one tour without waiting for security or anything. I'll even give the tour. I have duty this Saturday, Aug. 23rd so I can get a group in at 9 am or after 6pm. Let me know if anyone is interested. I'll be at the ship all day on Saturday (24hr duty). If anyone would like to come onboard any other time just let me know ahead of time and I can reserve a special tour. If anyone needs directions or info on where to show up on Saturday let me know. Also, depending on how many are interested I can get authorization to park inside the Navy Yard. Probably be pretty neat seeing some bikes in the parking lot other than my Super Hawk and my buddies ZZR.

I may take you up on this... Wish I knew you before I commissioned in June, would have done it on the ship. I had thought of holding the ceremony on the ship as a possible location, but ran into some problems with the family of the other Lt. I commissioned with, and we ended up not choosing the Constitution... still wish we had though.
Man that sucks... Im stuck in Groton on Duty Myself in the shipyards on saturday![]()
Whats your rate, that you were able to land the Constitution gig?
And heres the real question, Any Nukes with you there? We are trying to Disprove the NNNA Rule(Nukes need not apply).

Nuke as in non-forward area Guys, Not explosives. Weve got this long running saying that for the non-nuke jobs (IE jobs that have nothing to do with our training) Nukes need not apply. They simply will not put a sailor trained back aft on a "good deal" and it seems to hold true.
Sorry if that question came out wrong...

I'd be down for it on Saturday morning, im an o1 in the Army so it'd be pretty cool, i only live like 10 mins away and me and my army buds always stay at the constitution in when we go out into boston cause its so cheap![]()
I'm an IT1. We don't currently have any nukes here but our OPSO coming in Sept. is a Nuke. Not enlisted though of course. The rates we have here currently are DC, BM, CE, PC, SK, SH and me, the lone IT. Most of the crew is made up of undesignated seamen straight from boot camp.
For everyone coming Saturday morning just let me know or show up in the Navy Yard at the little shack with the sailor in it standing watch at 8:55 am (tour will start at 9) or if more people want we can do it at 6 pm. If you need directions go to www.oldironsides.com and click on the visitor info link.
