A few friends and i are heading up to the track on wednesday for the street night. Anyone care to join? We should be there around 6ish

i've only been on a wednesday 1 time (bikeweek) and i got 13 time slips but i'm sure the weather forcast for that day was the reason. You'd prolly get 6 or 7 if you're there on time and stay till the end.
Only problem with your racebike on a street night, it will need a headlight and tail light

Oh i'll go, I need to improve on my 11.6 @ 117.

I even drilled the hole already for the
kill switch just incase I break the 120mph mark.
Perhaps I should let a bit of air out ot the rear so I don't go sideways out of the box again, 42 psi is good for sport touring but not so good for drag racing.

Besides the fact that, that is the anual "ride to work day".

- You don't need the kill switch unless you run 10.99 or better. MPH isn't a factor for this particular rule.

I called last year wanting to run the gix; I didn't have my leathers.

One thing I did learn for the conversation; you have to meet the requirements of the speed catagory if your MACHINE can go that fast, not necessarily with you on it.

So, I was required to wear full leathers due to the gix 1k's capability, whether I could go fast or not.

Just to clear up any confusion, you DO need a teather for any times over 120mph. Those of us that went the wednesday of bikeweek know this as it was made clear during tech inspection.

Yup. I kinda see the logic though, you are there to improve, what happens if you do, then you're in the "zone" of different rules, albeit on the same machine.

I called them because I didn't have full leathers, a lot of peeps here drag race and were teasing me to go with the gix. The guy on the phone asked what kind of bike I have, when he heard he laughed at me. When he was done chuckling, he told me I would have to meet the safety requirements of what the bike was capable of.

My situation: never been on the drag strip. Riding a bike capable of 10.2-9.8 second 1/4mi. I don't know how fast or slow I will be, 15's 12's or 10's.

Glad my bike is a 750. LOL. BTW, it's at Jay's in pieces. Going up Tuesday night to fix it (don't ask). If I still have issues, I'm out on wednesday. I do, however, have a nice TLR1000 to play with.........nah couldn't do that to Jay's bike. Just kiddin' Jay.
