I've moved back to TN in the last couple of week but I didn't have room in the trailer for all my bikes so I left the Dynawideglide up at the inlaws in NH. I've got business up in VT next week so I'm gonna hop on the scoot and ride it back to Knoxville the week after. (I know this is a sport bike forum but hell, it's a ride)
I've worked out the details, trying to do this as a 4 day ride, doing about 8 to 10 hours a day. I'm running from Waterbury, VT to Knoxville with no miles on the interstates. The basic idea is that I'll drop down and over to Taconic in NY, then across 209 to PA, then down to Skyline Drive in VA till it hits the Blue Ridge Pky in VA, then taking the BRP all the way down till I get into NC then running north over 129 in into K town. GPS says it will be a tad over 1300, but it's all slow roads so I won't make good time but it should be a sweet ride if the weather cooperates.
Rolling out of VT on Sat the 16th and finishing up on Tuesday the 19th.
Damn that sounds like it should be a real nice ride.
hit the gap?
You're a day later than me. I'm heading out on the 15th, riding down to DC, spending the weekend there visiting the parents, then heading into the mountains of West Virginia and down to the NC border to meet up with a couple friends who are riding north from Alabama on the 20th. After that it's BRP and Skyline Drive back up to northern VA and back roads home through PA and upstate NY.

Could you post your route? I'd love to head down that way later this year and avoid highways.

thats the route I took, first time I rode to Deals Gap..... 209 is kinda monotinous in parts of PA, lots of junkyards
hope you can do the length of Skyline Drive and BRP, only once have I had good weather every other time, even though it was sunny on I-81, BRP was socked in with fog & rain
BTW, don't let the squid sportbikers convince you this is a sportriders forum
IT's NOT, the name is New England Streetriders not sportriders
