so it 8pm today ?? I`ll try to come too....with my '89 zx750 ...Jim, howz that for a pose : ?
glad to come across an owner who had a similar bike.
yeah..it is comfortable, hmm...mine's not so heavy...i dunno really coz dint ride any other 750s much. and mine is fast enough.
btw...while you had it...did you have any problems with its generator belt ? my bike's generator belt wears off very quickly....dunno whats the remedy for it. in just under 1500 miles, am running on the 3rd belt now ....any info wud be of great help.
here are the pics....happy with it except for that only problem...
Cool ride. Mine was very, very similar but the white/red color scheme, and it got a V&H 4:1 pipe after I got rear-ended @ a crosswalk on 114 in Salem, courtesy of the cars insurance company.
For it’s age I guess it’s not that heavy, but aside from that and very old CB’s my only experience is with much newer bikes. I know the newer 600’s are WAY faster than my 750 ever was, and the newer R1’s are not only faster multiple times over but actually lighter (or at least they feel it?). Overall good bike though, I liked it. I guess heavy & slow are more a feature of it’s age, not saying it’s any heavier or slower than any other 20+ year old 750.
Never had any issues w/ the generator. Only problem mine had was a valve tap, and with close to 40K on it when I traded it for a dirt bike my shop said it probably wasn’t worth the cost to fix it. Kid I traded it to knew about it but only wanted a bike for a couple months (maybe less?) until he deployed to the military so he could learn to ride, and would get a new one when he got back.
