After running the trackday today, I made the decision not to race this weekend. It was fine for a trackday, but I can't see how it can be made safe for racing. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I'm not going to risk it, personally. Good luck to those who do, and stay safe. Remember they're just plaques.
I'm going to try to not comment until I run it on Friday ... but we are going to be going a little faster than the vintage guys ....
we shall see

yeah, think i would have to ride that to determine how safe it is. i think the first chicane (t1?) is scary because it is straight at the wall, but the corners are so mild it "shouldn't" be an issue. coming out in to the 2-3 chute looks scary as well, but lets face it, it was never the safest track to begin with.
LRRS EX #165 (formerly)
im running it, but the issue i see is if two riders are side by side. Plus the vintage guys arent on the gas going thru there...and they are going slower then we will be...
I think I may be out
Like it's been said, we're racing for fun at a club level, and this is really pushing it. Thanks for the video Johnny, it looks as though the rider we were on-board with was playing very nice and conservative... I can only imagine the side-by-side action in the dash, when essentially what we saw there was a straight line if you thread the needle... if two guys were side by side, I'm afraid as to what happens hitting airfence or cones at high speeds.
It's really too bad they didn't decide to reschedule the LRRS weekend. This will be my first weekend not racing since my rookies race.
I will be there for Thurs Open session but if its going to be raining it will be a hang out session instead of a practice session. I hope to get out on Fri for practice and see what this is going to be like. I have only been racing 3 years so hopefully i will be able to pick up this new set up. Either way I won't be at work and I won't have any worries other than to make sure there is ice in the beer cooler. So bring on the new temp set up, cant wait to see everyone, crack some frosted barley pops, crank up the grills and lets have some fun.
Remember, folks, the setup for Vintage or the track days are not what's going to be used. Eric wood is designing what will be used for racing and for the school.
I'm also going to check to see if we have a copy of the design to run for open practice on Thursday.
Don't panic until you see me take a Cat and set up a jump on the front straight. Now where did I put those front end loader keys? mmmmmmm

Key phrase from my posting, Eric is using much fewer cones, more soft barriers. I'm sure it will be slower because they'll be able to tighten things up quite a bit without cars in the equation.

I'm trying. The problem is Bette is on to me. She keeps saying " it's not your day to get away with anything! "
She crushed my "pit bike hill climb" plans. Sweet set of triple jumps - nope. She caught me staring at the big hole in 1A - " Don't even think about it, Paul!! I've got my eye on you"
I swear, I think she's got those guys in yellow shirts following me. I'm really not feeling the love...

Ohh ya do I need to bring the generator again this weekend? Johnny B?
OK, folks. Here's the scoop on what's going to happen. The track has even cancelled car open practice to make sure this change is all set for motorcycle racing.
Next time you see Bette or Wanda, make sure you let 'em know they ROCK !! Remember, their always looking out for you.
Paul,
Eric will be here Thursday to do the set-up prior to motorcycles going on track.
Also, CARS are cancelled for tomorrow morning. We wanted the track cleared for set-up.
We will not run anything on track tomorrow until 1:00 pm.

THERE IS NO INFIELD.
Please don't start this power shitstorm again.
I was on the fence about racing this weekend but I have decided that we travel all around the damn east coast to try "different" tracks so why should this be any different.
I also got the suspension done on the SV and I am pretty pumped after a dry TTD and a new set of tires to get out there and rip on that thing. I hated it the first weekend but I now LOVE IT!!!
