    Re: Body Positioning Tips

    My turn! My turn!

I tend to twist my inside ankle like so, so my toe is almost pointing down:

Most people Ive seen do it like so, so their foot is parallel to the ground:

Is this something Im doing wrong and should work on correcting, or just go with whatevers comfortable.

I think what he meant on this one is that your outside arm rests on the tank. I kinda rest my elbow on the tank which helps me let my inside arm loosen up and not fight the bar.

and to echo what others have said about moving your head over. the pic in my avatar I kept hitting my chin on my hand (I saw the camera man). when you move your head over there it feels like you're pushing the bike away to the outside.

I don't know what's going on here. looks kinda like you're about to jump ship cause you gotta take a dump.

but seriously fix your feet and it'll make transitioning from side to side much easier and I bet you'll pick up some time right away.

all this body position stuff is all practice. the more you practice it the less you'll have to think about later on. and what works for some people doesn't work for others.

This is interesting. Not to pick but look at the differences. Rider in front to rider in back.

    Ok now for me.

I am way offline (although this is on the drive out of 6) and I need to lead more with my shoulder/chin and look through the turn not at the camera. Al also think I am to crunched up on the inside of the bike.

    Re: Body Positioning Tips

OK, pics from the weekend are in. First off I need to put a HUGE thanks out to Dan, he helped me a lot in our little talk.

This is basically the result of him. I know I still have a lot to do, but it's an improvement:

Also, I know there were places I was doing a better job... when I had time to think about it. This wasn't one of those times, I think I was trying to win LWSM. When trying to win it's hard to remember to work on stuff...

And here I am doing it entirely wrong... crossed up and everything:

And my competition doing it right...

How I'm faster than that little bastid I have no idea, he does a lot right that I do dead wrong.

Nope... it's actually a touch restrictive. I'm just a fat bastid... I'm poofy.

pfft... you're not even dragging hard parts in that pic. If not for your T1 incident I'd call

try being a fat bastid on stock springs... :

The thing I did notice with my corrected body position though is that I can't seem to get my knee out when turning left. Turning right I can get it out and dragging, but never on the left. It always wants to stay in towards the tank like in the pic.

looks like you're pulling your whole left side in. elbow and knee both look nice and tucked in. try moving your elbow out and see if the knee follows.
