Typical inexperienced reaction to a new situation. he'll learn by it and won't be so spooked next time someone passes him.

My guess is he did the ole track-day novice line into turn 9... instead of going from the apex of 8 directly to the apex of 9, he hugged the exit of turn 8 and used an outside-ins-OHSHITTHERE'SBERGS-outside line.... cuz it looks like he's tightening his line way too soon. He's practically pointed at the tires by the jersey barrier in those pics.
