Hey there, first post in forever...
Personally, I'd opt for something with brakes. I'm sure there's folks on here with experience that know, but I'm sure you could squeeze 4 bikes on that trailer, then your truck's loaded with 4 guys and their gear, and so on... That's a lot of weight. It wouldn't suck to have some help slowing things down. I know you didn't ask for opinions about whether it should have brakes or not, so I'll clam up.
As far as it being a good deal... How old is it? Is it from a private party or a dealer? Are there any service records? If it's relatively new (1-3 years) and in very good shape, it sounds good to me.
Check out this one

I believe mine is a 6x12 and I only get 2 bikes and my gear/tools/gas in there.
Well 3 if you count the pitbike but that is a tight squeeze.
