Folks who are planning to run Formula 300 bikes this year:
What make/model are you going with? "Sea of orange" on the grid or lots of EX300s and R3s too? Any Hondas?
What do you consider the "essential" mods? Shock/emulators/tires and rip it?

ZX-4RR, R1200GSW, 701 E/SM, Hyperstrada 821 (FS!)
So I went the KTM route. As far as "essential" items, you're looking at a cartridge kit up (andreanni or GP) front and a JRi rear shock. I'm not sure about the R3 but the tuning is also essential for the KTM. It's not an item I would be willing to put off.
Second would be ergos: rearsets and clip ons.
Why does it feel like I've thrown more money at it than just that?
We'll see about that!

Yea. There is a bit of work that needs to be done to get the geometry right on the ktm. The r3 is better in that regard.

I am Running a Honda 150R with very tall gearing
The 150R was converted to 2-stroke and mashed into a 1963 Yamaha frame that some 8-year old had run over with a semi truck, then pained purple.
Kurlon is the motorcycle equivalent to Sheldon in "The Big Bang Theory"
R3 over here due to getting one for $2700 off of craigslist. Front internals and rear shock with Dynojet with quick-shifter mod. Then sliders and safety wire and bodywork. I wish I had the KTM as I just dig the looks of them. They don't look like low end commuters converted into a race bike like my R3. Also there is this crap about using the stock muffler on the R3 at LRRS but in 2017 there is talk about removal of the cat for clearance issues. Yes. My bellypan has bottomed out due to clearance for the cat. I have not done that yet. I think its dumb that we can't simply run CCS rules and be allowed to use a simple to order, after market pipe/can. I don't even know who to go to get the pipe modified.

Send cash... I need a track day
LRRS' rules are to keep performance parity, making it an indexed class. CCS's started out as near GP rules, so if you weren't into the bike and on a current gen machine forget about it. We adopted our rules prior to CCS officially having a class, going pure CCS would push a bunch of bikes out of the LRRS class for competitiveness.
If you're bottoming out, change your line, body position, etc through there or accept that you're at the limits of the machine?
You realize Tom can ride circles around you, right? I know you're taking a beating lately and am not trying to pile on.

Most of the paddock can ride circles around me, that isn't news to me.Thats why I noted the last option, he may just be at the limits of the machine within the rules. That's part of being in an indexed class. If you want to eliminate all machine limitations, jump into a GP class. I'd be more than happy to have a built to the max R3 blowing up Ultralight GP, keeping me from ever seeing the podium in the 'Kurlon' class. Hell, I haven't checked his times but I know Woody got me in the wet on his F300 machine, Tom may be able to beat me in the dry in which case why isn't he in ULGP already?
And Richie, you're not getting back on my Christmas card list that easily. You're going to have to buy your way back on to the manmal toe newsletter just like everyone else.
*le sigh* as you were...

Ok, so I clearly didn't get what you were trying to hint at in the first post based on your exhalation with a french accent in your follow up. So, instead of playing charades over forum posts, what is it you want to convey Chris? Or what is it you want me to say?
Tom's asked why LRRS isn't currently following CCS ULTB rules, I gave the observed rationale. He asked why he can't just swap a pipe, I gave the reason based on the current rules structure. If he wants to have LRRS switch to CCS ULTB / UL300 rules, get ALL participating racers to sign on and bring that request to LRRS?
All I'd say to both points is it's not like a slip on is a GP machine...
I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
Agreed, but pulling the cat out of an exhaust on a production class bike is going to alter it's performance, even if you require the pipe be made of inconenl for weight and same ID as the rest of the system at that point. You've also altered it's cornering clearance. Net result, you've thrown the indexing out of whack.
I'm mocking you quite clearly for getting on a soapbox to someone who has forgotten more about riding a bike than you know.
It's a really lame facade, like being super stoked to race the Loudon Supermoto race round and finish dead last - 3 weeks behind the finisher.
The cryptic mw racing goals only to be oh so gutted when the engine or some bs is busted. Guy, get real.
Any other questions I can answer for you?

Wait, my going out for the AMA Sumo as an expert 'cause I was sharing a bike with Cole and he wanted to run AM with his friends was a facade? What part of that did I fake? Was it the part where my first practice I freaked out in the front straight chicane, hit a tire and folded the brake lever around completely, then spent the rest of that practice session killing myself trying to restart the bike to get it back to Cole before his practice? Or was it the part where despite being in WAY over my head I went out there anyways, and if you check the record I did not finish dead last. 18 out of 24, right behind Adam Clark (who is a superman for riding as beat up as he was that year) and ahead of some LRRS regulars. Race 2 didn't happen as the poor YZ crapped out from being flogged by two riders at once without the benefit of any setup to help it survive sumo at all. Now, you wanna talk about balls, Colin ran AMA on a freaking KLX400, talk about bringing a knife to a gun fight. I seem to recall both of us having shit eating grins for the rest of that weekend too... or did I fake that memory?
And the MW stuff, you mean the bike in my garage with 70% leakdown on #1 is fake too? I still have no official MW goals other than possibly getting out there and trying it, the official goal for this bike is to help get past a couple mental roadblocks via practice/school time. Anything beyond that is gravy. And yeah, I'm still gutted about the engine turning out to be a dud, so... again, what's fake here? Based on this standard of facade, I'll happily accept a facade 2nd gen R6 motor to get it back to life?
You wanna try and whip on me for playing undercover referee, go for it, that's valid. But this BS about facades and faking shit, I don't think that tact is going to win you any internet points.
