Yikes - safety wire that shit man. Aren't there some retaining pins holding those in? You should have those pins wired up so that doesn't happen.

Loudon is no place to be dropping a brake pad on the track. Consider that a warning...You're lucky you didn't get hurt, or take someone else out with you.

No retaining pins, no way to safety wire them as far as I know, I need to fully investigate, but its happened before to some of the EX guys

This is not a mistake by DB. Apparently this just happens on the EXs.

Looking at my GS caliper (same as later EXs) it's actually a sign that his brakes are well maintained. We're running floating calipers on floating rotors. The fact that his caliper floated enough with the rotor to pop the pad out shows it was greased properly with intact dust seals. For now the fix is to keep an eye on your rotor buttons, and replace when they get too loose. In the meantime I think I can find away to wire them...

SVs need to check this as well, along with any other bike running floating rotors and calipers...

For now the fix is to keep an eye on your rotor buttons, and replace when they get too loose. In the meantime I think I can find away to wire them...

I thought the instructions that came with my caliper says the buttons need to be replaced when they are too tight and cant be turned by hand?
And I cant see how you could wire those pads, dont they need to move with the pistons?
