I got really bored & made myself a keyless ignition.
Someone was kind enough to make up this diagram for the 2nd gen SV.

So using that, I cannibalized the 3 wire connector for the speedo sensor and a pig-tail wiring harness for a battery tender which had the in-line fuse holder to make a little mini wiring harness. Then spliced it into the stock right hand controls harness.
Sorry bout the crappy cell phone pics.

You want this one. Superbike harness for first gen SV. (Supersport requires the use of the stock harness)

I couldn't read that if I wanted to. Was never great with schematics.
Are all the elements required? My SV no longer has an R/R on it.
Is the resistor for factory "security"?
The factory ignition has some resistance in it. Not sure if it's a security measure or what.

Zoran is the man. He's helped me with a few things. I just bought his old bodywork off one of his bikes.
Me no likey crash
I did that on my R6, I mounted a rocker switch in the top triple.
Definitely nice not worrying about a key either being lost and/or breaking off in the ignition in a crash.

Yeah I was going to do a rocker switch, even went out and bought one, but this is even simpler and I won't kill my battery if I forget to hit the rocker and turn the bike off. This way if its not running, the bike is turned off unless I stall it out or run out of gas.

mine is just tied into the kill switch by the throttle. the ignition is tripped to always be on, so i just use the kill switch to turn the bike on/off. like CEO said, it's nice to not worry about losing or breaking your key.
