new helmet

after my ladder incident this weekend, I need to get a new umm, painting helmet. Where do you guys get your helmets from? My damaged lid is a Suomy Spec-1R and I'm getting another, most likely. Manufacture date is important to me, so a company that'll check for me is key.

Get it from a dealer. More $$, but they can order one from the factory, rather than a 300$ online-special.

I get a fairly good discount locally.. I think they sell suomy, give me a call if you want me to check.

I would go online, Try Sportbike track gear, Or Helmet Harbor (they will tell you the Prod date over the phone or by Email) The only reason to go to a dealer is to get fitted but you already know what you want and the size you Need.

personally i prefer buying helmets from ppl i actually know or a shop i'm familiar w/. i just bought a spec 1r a week b/f the first weekend. it was made in dec last year. be more than willing to pass on the shop info if your want. got a pretty good deal on it.
