    It's not much, but might just be enough.

    I thought it was there to help keep you helmet from bouncing around at speed, when you are tucked on the bike with your head pointed up. Now, I'm not so sure.

    I've never seen a street jacket with a hump on it, but I should think it depends on the height of your passenger. If you're referring to your son, he's probably short enough that his helmet will hit the hump (depending on how far you lean forward when you ride). Your wife can probably see over it.

    I have seen jackets from A* and AGVSport that also have the hump.
