JE Pistons (12.5:1 compression ratio 2 sizes over) 702? ??? Odd with stock cams
Carillo Rods Like $600 new but I think he told me he had stock rods in there
1mm over Intake valves (2Bros) with stock cams?
Titanium Valve retainers (2Bros) No biggie
Adjustable Ignition Advancer(2Bros) Not worth anything, I don't know one Hawk racer that uses one
Factory Jet Kit (jetted for 5k ft)Who cares, I have a ton of jets if it is off
M4 High Rise Full Exhaust system with polished bracket (this exhaust system is nearly pristine and tuned almost perfectly from the factory) Very noce system and worth abotu $600
Vortex triple clamp Whoopie!
Vortex CliponsGood
Progressive Fork SpringsOk... You will upgrade the front
Chafong preload adjuster capsSee above
Chafong RearsetsNice but sell em for woodcrafts
VFR 5.5" Rear Wheel and Hub Conversion (this is only supposed to take a 170 tire and won't rub with that config) Sell to a street guy, we all use stock rear rims, cheaper to run spares too.
F2 Front Wheel You will upgrade the front, keep the rim for when you get a complete f2 front
AirTech RC31 Bodywork and mounting Sell to a street guy $400
Michelin Race Slicks (barely worked in -only about 6 hours of track time) Nice, but you don't NEED them as a novice and you can enter more classes with DOT's sell them to someone faster and get DOT's
Galfer SS front brake line (Clipon length) I would hope so
The sub frame was modded for the rear tailYou will most likely get a race subframe
Parts not on Bike
Dual headlight setup for RC30/31 Bodywork SELL $500
Rear Pit StandGonna need this in the pits
Stock Wheels You can't GIVE AWAY a stock front rim but KEEP the stock rear
Spare Stock cams (never sent them to get done)
CBR 900 Rear shock (never mounted)Don't mount it, get a REAL rear suspension Ohlins/Penske/Wilburs/Fox another think I am confused about, Hawk racer usually get a rear shock 1st.
Stock Airbox Junk, sell to a street guy
Galfer SS rear brake linePut on bike
That is what I would do with the bike and the parts. You could sell about $1000 worth, buy some stuff (shock $350, cams ??, stock rear hub ??, F2 frontend $3-400) and get the motor fixed with that (and a little more)money.

OR you can put $40 into a set of top end gaskets and run it the way it is as a Novice. Then worry about the build later. If i did not have 5 Hawks this would have been sold the first day it was posted.

Just race the 1k... pu55y
jk... If you really want to race an ex500 definitely the lowest cost way to get into it. Another option would be to sell the 1k, buy a cheap SV street bike and use the leftover funds to get into racing. Even if you want to run bigger bikes, just buy someones takeoffs or something for tires, it'll save you hundreds. Just don't crash, thats the most expensive part of racing.

Doc, on the cams/valves, going up 1mm on the intakes makes the OEM cam 'act' like a wilder cam with stock valves, different way of achieving similar results, aka better breathing.
Now, combine those valves with a hotter cam, awww yeah....
Just enter The 1000 in any HW Race, Its novice it nobody cares .Its only a problem if you win. once you get out of Novice there will be more races for you to run with your 1K.

Hi Dudu!! I actually saw you rolling in the expert group with BOMO last year. I actually think you looked pretty quick.
instead of pushing shitty bikes to another new guy interested, why not ask him what he'd like to race & how many races would he like to enter per weekend.
i'm all for an SV like oreo suggested, but Hawks & EX500's, F that![]()
Until you're doing better times on your 600 than the experts are on their "shitty bikes"....... Shut up, pre-novice.![]()

I can resist everything but Pete's mom.
How long have you been club racing again? Ask the racer that's having a slow weekend (for them) if they're having fun.
Anyway... my point is, don't talk down about a bike just cuz you don't think it looks cool or doesn't fit your definition of a race bike... especially when that bike is capable of going much faster than you on your middleweight.
I call the EX500 a pile.... but I do so affectionately and with an educated opinion. When was the last time you rode a nicely set-up EX500 or Hawk?

what's this got to do with pushing him towards a Hawk or EX500? he asked if he'd be able to ride his CBR1000 more than 1 race per weekend. so my guess would be that he wants to do more than 1 per weekend. how about asking how many he'd like to enter before pushing a bike at them. if he wants to enter 5-6 races per weekend, i dont think he'd be able to do that on a "shitty" bike.
i'm not suggesting what bike to ride, but i'm a little sick of seeing the same 5-6 people pushing a Hawk or EX500 to everyone that's ever considered going on a track.

That figures. Is your SV gonna be chrome too?Last I checked you couldn't keep up with me on my POS Hawk with your POS 600.
He can certainly race what he wants. I percieved that he was looking at a cheaper way to get into racing.
BTW, Have you not seen me suggesting SV's to people?![]()

I think DB just got OreoGaboripwned
I kind of agree w/ his point though... but in this case he did imply a low budget so I can see the hawk/ex suggestions. I personally have no desire to race them however.
