    Re: RC for the track?

I'm going to say the RC for one reason alone.

It's Bruce's bike and that thing has been very well taken care of. I've never known Bruce without that bike and after what, 4 years of Deal's Gap trips with it, I can attest for how he takes care of it.

Also, you ever try riding a bike with a stock exhaust behind 3 RC's all with nice aftermarket systems through a set of sweepers? HalfSquid, SkiierX and MyCirius all rolling on the gas at the same time sounded like a symphony of awesome. I tell ya, our Deal's Gap trips will never be the same without the RC harmony. The only thing that can come close is Ducati's, but the RC's just have a tighter thunderous note to them.

I'd rather own something like that because it's a bit different, has a lot more "soul" than a 600SS. That's just me.

Track? Sure, it would be loads of fun on trackdays. Hell, my 550lb ZRX is fun at trackdays. ANY bike is fun at trackdays. You will learn just as much on either an RC or a 600 at the track. Faster |= more learning. Skills translate across the board. Hell, if Tony would let me, I'd bring the KLR up there and peel some 50/50 knobbies for a session.

Here is an idea. TRY one. Hell, just try a similar big V-Twin on the street like a Tuono or a Ducati 900 or 1000. Then try a 600. If it were just track, 600 would probably win. But for both? No question in my mind.

    Re: RC for the track?

good info guys. I have what I was looking for, some informed opinions on the two bikes as choices for street and track use.

I think Pete is right, with your input, I can take what I know about how the bike will be used and make the right choice.

    Thanks again for the input.

oh and just for old times sake:
