Seriously, if you're in college and thinking about racing... you better have very high limits on your credit cards, or some serious cash flow.

That said, get an SV. It's the best and most popular "budget" race bike. They are *everywhere* and actually behave (somewhat) like a real motorcycle. An EX or Motard, while fun, are their very own beasts. Plus, it's no fun taking either to a track like NJMP or VIR (although some may beg to differ).
