At BW? Good luck. Much more that 12" isn't skiable there. Not steep enough most places (unless you know where to look.....). And if the idea is to do as many runs as you can, fresh snow sucks. I did a 24-hour ski a thon there a few years back where it snowed hard the whole time. My legs couldn't take more than an hour at a time, and I was in pretty good shape at the time (skied well over 100 days that year).
Yup. New snow, head into the trees. They have a lot of stuff that's been cut in the last few years (I know, I did a lot of the work). The trails under the Rosebrook Quad are a lot of fun too, but a bit on the short side. West Mountain can be fun, but only if it hasn't snowed since they groomed the cutback to the old mountain. Otherwise its a LONG push to get back to the base lodge.
No worries. I worked at BW for 8 1/2 years. If anyone wants to come up and have a good time this winter, let me know. I can probably show you some fun stuff to ski there. And I want an excuse to ski a lot of the newer glades -- I still haven't skied most of the stuff I cut.
i shred the gnar from time to time.
Ive been snowboarding forever, I could definitely get down on a vertical challenge team!
Also LRRS, I would definitely take you up on the glades-guide offer! I love me some backcountry.
Don't Fake the funk on a nasty dunk.
