Well, unfortunately the 2008 LRRS season is over, so howd everyone do? Results / personal goals / goals for next year?
I bumped to AM after the second weekend, that was my major goal for this season, and as it turns out, did fairly successfully. I got wood in 4 AM weekends, including a win. Mostly PTwin wood, but I also got a LWSM 3rd place as well. I dropped my PB from a 1:29 something to a 1:26 something, started running consistent 27-28s, I'm happy with the consistency, but wish it were consistent 27s only. Only crashed once, and it wasnt too major. Started getting frustrated at all the non-ptwin races, became evident it wasnt necessarily my riding skill holding me back, but the bike, that was starting to kill me as the year rolled on.
As for next year, picking up a new bike, but still debating holding onto the EX for PTwins. Hopefully (if my times are there) bumping to expert. I have enough races, and a .415 index right now, so some decent results and I should be there, but my times will be the major factor. Id love to figure out how to get over the plateau I'm stuck on for EX times, and be able to run a 25 PB and consistent 26s, so thats about my goals for next year.
1. Increase rear ride height
2. New front brake system
2021 KTM Duke 890 R
2020 BMW R1250GS Adventure Exclusive
1982 Honda CB750F Super Sport
Hmm.. My season.
I did not hit the times I wanted to... but I am running consistent 18's now (2 sec faster than last year).
I did get some amateur wood, and bumped to expert (which was totally unexpected/unplanned).I learned to practice harder, finally upgraded my suspension mid way through the year, learned how to use the new suspension and new tires together - loving the Pirelli stickies, and how easy boston moto is to deal with. Also had a good wake-up by Mike M about makign sure my set-up is expert-class worthy. Have some bugs to work out with the brakes (would be nice to stop later/harder), and do some custom tuning with Hoffman (am #514).
I think MotoAddiction is going to be a solid team next year with or without additions to the team - as envied as the baby blue bikes areDenno and I had a blast chasing each other around the track, it's going to keep us both pushing our hardest and improving week after week. He's a strong contender for rookie of the year, and our combined success should help us add to our sponsorship roster. We plan on making a bigger dent in the expert classes next year.
Lots of thanks to all our sponsors, Next Generation (powdercoating & wheel repairs), MotoNation, Vortex, Hindle, Ct Power & Sport. As well as thanks to our friends/family who came to watch, and all you guys that have pointers & praises to share with us.
Hope to hit a 15.99 next year, with consistant 16's by season end. Attend the 2-day penguin school, and stay in front of Denno!
**Don't Panic - Moto Addiction will return to the track with baby blue next year**
I got to penguin school/race one weekend before the end of the year and rode really slow but didn't have any "almost crashed" moments.
Over the winter I am looking to build up a race bike and make a good amount of races next season.

Answered question “Is that Brett Guyer’s old bike?” 87 times.
Got great support from DUNCANMoto.com. Thank you!
Chain broke, crank bearing failed. Missed three race weekends.
After BCM motor rebuild, realized that much of “Brett Guyer’s old bike” is now in a box in my garage.
After 4 wins and 9 podiums in 9 races, friends begin to “ask” me “So, you’re upgrading?”
Upgraded.
Got into the 18s.
“Raced” in the rain for the first time.
Survived pitting with KB.
For next year: get some wood!
I'll make my wrap-up short & sweet...
2008 was almost a perfect repeat of 2007 (minus the broken wrist); the first 1/2 of the season was a complete wash and I hardly even turned a lap before the Classic (which I wasn't able to attend) due to fuel problems (shit stuck in the petcock), I only crashed once and the last weekend of the year was a wet one. Even when it WAS running right I was upwards of 5 seconds off my usual pace (1:25 flats)
Finally for weekend #5 I upgraded from an EX500 to an SV650 and after a 1 race weekend adjustment period, quickly found myself down in the 22's.
Gonna make some changes to the suspension during the off-season & I'm hoping to pick up where I left off come spring time.
Who knows what "LRRS Silly Season" will bring?![]()

The fact that I began the 2008 season without even thinking about racing and, with a trip to VIR and a couple of TTD's, I ended up racing...which I found pretty amusing in itself.
Overall, my short time racing so far has produced overall mediocre results. Hit my goal of 25's in my first race weekend and turned a 21 with some consistant 22's and 23's thrown in.
Tucked the front going into T1 two weekends ago and completely fucked up T3 this past weekend. However, I squeaked in a 1.30 in the wet so I was pleased with that...too bad I crashed out of 3rd place right after...
Got wood on Saturday and wood on the previous weekend...I'm happy with that as well.
Still sorting out the bike and this winter will be a great opportunity to go through the entire machine and set everything up to my likeing.
My goals for 2009 (as of now):
Get into those muther-effing 'teens!
No more race take-offs.

Yearly wrapup - Started the season with a bang, that put me on the sidelines for over half the summer. Finally got back on track with a couple races left, and after fighting some teething problems with the GS got my times down, and scored wood in the rain.
Goals for next year - Be better prepared for sub-optimal racing conditions, have spare wheels with rains, etc. Have my jetting fully sorted with no dead spots. I want to see times below 1:30. Beat Harrison in a straight up dry race.
ill post mine in 2 weeks

wrap-up- ran 2 weekends and and had 2-1st place finishes, 2-3rd place finishes and 2-4th place finishes.. went from a 1.32 to a low 1.25 in 2 weekends. Completed a total of 7 races with an index of around 8.2 or so.
goal- work on the bike all winter and invest in suspension and refreshing the moto. after the 1st weekend next year as a novice. complete enough races and bump to amateur. Continute to do the rest of the season in amateur and drop my times down to at least a 1.20 and be able to compete in LWSS, GTL and LWGP

Not a great rookie season, but not a terrible one. Started off on the 600rr and after one weekend on the tard realized I liked racing it a LOT more. Enjoyed a few crashes and took some good lessons from them. Wood in the last race of the season so Im happy with that. Over the winter, def need a new sprocket, and hopefully some suspension upgrades as well. Next year, stay on one bike all year and try to get into the mid to low 20s consistently, hopefully make the bump to AM. The last weekend in the rain sucked, but it taught me a ton about sliding and traction...bring on the dry!!!
It was awesome meeting a lot of you. LRRS and NESR is a great group of peoples!![]()
Supa Motarded! If you see me backin it in, keep watching...Im about to crash
