Hey guys, I'm trying to trouble shoot a stutter at hot idle. Here's my specs and mods:
2003 GSXR 600
22k miles
Full Yoshi Exhaust
K&N Air Filter (dirty, replacing soon)
NGK Plugs (pulled and regapped today, color was gray)
PCIIIr with Full Yoshi / Stock Air Filter Map
Running 87 octane currently, have tried 89,91,93 with no change
Idle is at 1500, have tried up to 1800 but prefer not to go that high.
The problem is that when the bike is good and hot it revs up to about 2k rpms and makes a troubling stuttering sound. It only does this when the PC3r is installed. I removed the PC3r for a few days and it didn't have the rough idle at all but the PC makes such a huge performance difference that I NEED to figure this out. I put the bike in dealer mode and get c00, no fault. I've tried different maps for other exhausts just to see if it changes but it doesn't. It takes an extra 2 seconds or so to start up when it's cold (like lots of PCs) and takes about 5 seconds occasionally when restarting very hot. It doesn't really bog at any point and can hold 2k+ rpms with throttle with no hiccups or seeking. The PC3r is grounded firmly and its connectors aren't missing teeth. I'm planning to put electrical grease on them soon just to see if it matters. It doesn't knock, backfire, hesitate or anything like that once I'm moving. Max engine temp in traffic that I've seen is 224. I've tried the whole range of low rpm range rich/lean ratios via the PC3r with no improvement to the stutter.
My C00 code had the - at the top, so I may need to readjust both TPSes, the PC one and the one for the bike itself.
So basically: idles with stutter ONLY when hot AND has the Power Commander installed. Advice anyone? Thanks in advance, I'm almost out of my level of expertise on this, it's my first FI bike and I've had it for about 6 months.
