    chinese fairings

Alright, so spring is in the air, and I'm getting that itch to go out and ride.

Problem is: I crashed my bike (a 2003 600rr) fairly bad last september and never got around to fixing her back up due to 6 floating ribs and a broken colar bone

So I snapped the upper fairing (one in front that goes around the lights) and got some slight rash on the left fairing. The rear got a little rash and the right side of the rear already has some small rashes.

Anyways, I've been looking at these chinese fairing kits and they come pre-painted, shipped, for ~$500-600. Not a bad deal! But I've read/heard horror stories on fit, and finish (but the finish seems to be knit pickers). I'm fairly handy with a dremel and rigging shit up, so I don't worry too much.

Anyways, any of you guys bite the bullet and try this out? Or do you think it'd be cheaper to just buy an upper and then go to a body shop and get all of my fairings sanded down and painted?

    any input is appreciated.

if those are the ebay ones they where junk for the 675 a guy on my forum bought them tried to return them cause the finish/fit was terrible they gave him shit and refused to return even tho it says u can. Finally after 3 weeks of complaining they let him return but he had to pay shipping AND get this had to leave POSITIVE feedback to get his money back!

I bought sharkskins for my 900SS and i thought price was reasonable and quality decent considering its fibreglass not that factory plastic crap, ton lighter.

I have a set of Hong Kong’s from Auctmarts. For the money they were not a bad deal. Mind you mine are 3rd gen ones, abs. Just make sure they are the new ones and you will be happy. They are not OEM and no aftermarket will ever fit that good but for the $$$$ they are a cheap alternative...

Thanks for the input, guys. I'll be sure to look for the abs 'better fit' version if I have a choice. Seems like the ebay sellers are dropping like flies lately.

Try D9 industries, a little bit expensive but they will paint them for you however you want. From what I've heard fitment is awsome, mine should be here in a few days for my 954 I'll take pics if you want.

The link to their website should be in my signature

    Re: chinese fairings

Please update me on this, im looking for a set myself. Trying to find a company with a great fit in case I cant find a good OEM set. Thanks

    EDIT:
Whats the deal with these sellers? They all have the same bodywork styles, same material but just different prices.
www.2wheelkits.com has kits for 650 w/ free shipping, Hong Kong fairings are around 750 and the D9 place is almost 1000.00 for the same kit designs.
Do they just have different molds or something to make them more expensive for a better fit? Hmm
