I was pushing my CBR 900rr out of the garage today and spotted a pretty noticeable blue line on the front and rear Dunlop Qualifiers.
Is normal from street use? Tires have roughly 5K on them, could this be from improper air PSI? I have been running the factory numbers of Front 36 psi and rear 43 psi.

They'll do that... I believe it's just the chemicals in the tires reacting to heat & uv rays. It'll be gone the second you start riding around on em again.

Those pressures sound way high. Should be around 30-32.
For the track, sure. Not necessarily for the street.

I run Dunlop Qualifiers on the street at 36/42 on my F4i with no problems. Better mileage and wear, plus you can ride two up without putting air in them.![]()
I think the bluing is from ozone, you got electric motors in the garage where you store the bike? Pressures, I run my B021s at 45F/45Rear. But the C-14 is 700lbs curbed and over 900 with me and gear aboard, passenger adds another 120. Need the pressure. Everyone with a new Concours complained about the B021s, but they do the trick for me, they're like new with 2K miles on em. Plenty sticky, supple in the bumps.. What's not to like?
All the Dunlop dot's blue like that.
I was once told it's just oils coming to the surface and once I heat that area up it will go away until they sit again.

i've blued afew sets of dunlops. tends to happen after a good hard ride through the twisties. seems more prone to happen if you have a heavy bike (zx-12, busa, 1990s superbike).
i was told the same thing..."just oils, don't worry"... so i didn't and i never had a problem with blued tires.
it never completely went away though.
yup.
& wear out your tires quicker cuz of the increased contact patch.
I run my street tires at around 35psi front & rear cold.... And they just happen to be the same tires I run on the track at around 26/30psi HOT.
