Ok so over the winter, I decided to strip off all the stuff that doesn't matter to a race bike. I had some issues from the start. One: never had messed with a wiring harness and two: couldn't find a free wiring harness diagram (laid up, couldn't work, no money)that was for a 1998 F3. And noticed very quickly that, obviously, the wire colors were definitely not the same. So I kinda (bad choice on my part) just winged it.

Now, the bike wont start. I knew that my battery was starting to go bad at the end of last season, so I figured I would try to jump to see if the bike would start. Nothing.

I have wires that I closed off with electrical tape. For example from the CDI or fuse box. First question, is that bad? What should I do if it is?

If there is a short in the harness, how do you check for the short?
What else should I look for?
Does anyone have a F3 wiring Diagram that they would like to share?
What are the main components I need for a race bike to run?

Thanks Guys, I am a virgin with electrical stuff. :/
