I think its air or fuel for sure. the the valves not so much. I would go through the whole induction system. then clean the carbs and sink them. those carbed R6's are good bikes you will be fine
what are you talking about? no one claimed any EX had that much power and I doubt any EX would ever be close to 100hp. that number is for a 99 R6.

No way an EX is pulling 113hp, just not possible without nos, so dyno or not, you're full of it.

I have the original dyno sheet, and based upon all the talking up they were doing for him at the track, I thought he was pretty reputable guy. Guess not, oh well.

For anyone that cares the exact numbers were: HP - 112.76 : Toque - 48.77

If these numbers aren't correct then I don't know why people are paying hundreds of dollars for tunes and dyno numbers.

As to the original question - I am bringing the bike to Justin's house tomorrow night for some wrench time. He is going to teach me how to pull the carbs off and really go through it to get it running tip top. Then it will be off to LAPS to see what it can do again!
Hey, no need to get so upset, seriously. HP numbers are really only valid for tuning an individual bike and are very dependant on air temp, humidity, altitude etc. Rob is a reputable guy and he can do a very accurate dyno run for you by using all the correction factors if needed. Its not something that is done as a matter of course usually. All people are saying is that 113 real HP is not attainable on a 99 R6 without some serious motor work (bored, decked, cams, rods, carbs etc). Maybe your bike has some motor work? Dyno the same bike 3 days in a row at 3 different locations in 3 different conditions and you'll get dyno numbers varying by 10% easily.

FWIW, my 08 GSXR750 with a full akrapovic system and bmc air filter with a power commander makes only 130hp. Its very well tuned by.....you guessed it, Rob's Dyno. HP doesn't matter, its the curve that matters. Don't count rob out when you next need a dyno tune.

So, what did you find on your tear down of the carbs etc?? interested to see if you found anything amiss.

Dyno variance is huge. Talking with some tuners and looking up numbers online there is as much as a 50 HP difference between dyno companies on stock cars.

No biggies on the dyno numbers - I just want the bike to run properly.

Still no final solution yet - will check back with final resolution, LAPS is fast approaching.

yeah, that sounds right. Yamaha claimed 120bhp crank on those but the manufacturers always claim high.
