Just uploaded pics of the area that I punctured. As you can see from the 2nd and 3rd pics...the puncture is behind the bracket so not sure how you would get to it. I still can't believe how idiotic of a move this was. My eagerness to get in the next track session rushed my thinking. Lesson learned.
If you can handle something like this, can you PM me an estimate cost?
btw. some people say to JB Weld it...thoughts?
Dont bother with jb weld. Ill take off the bracket. Do the repair and reweld it back on $130 not including if you want repainted afterwards. It would come back to you in primer at the weld location

much like jb weld the pics suck.
epoxy designed for the material the tank is made of and is gas proof would work just as good as welding or brazing.
welding tanks is easy if you know what your dooing although your paint wouldn't be happy.
if it's a steel tanks welding the tank with out sealing the inside after will more than likely cause the inside of the tank to rust.

Can you do aluminum tanks too Mr Landrics? (Say, starting with just aluminum sheet and ending with a tank?)

For the low priceof $3.87 for some jb-weld , and 24 hrs total cure time , I would give it a try. I've had a jb weld job hold over 7yrs on the bottom side of my truck tank. Then it went to the crusher, its probable still holding.

Jb weld makes a kit for gas tanks. Its jb weld and a piece of fibreglass woven-matt, and I'm sure if it wasn't safe, they wouldn't put there name on it.
And my cat ran next to my tank.
Its just a sugestion for an easy fix. Sometimes keeping it simple is the best answer. K.I.S.S.

Back in the day we would rinse and rinse
Then stick a torch right in the filler hole just in case.
Maybe brazing or silver solder is too old school but you could fix something like that with a propane torch yourself.
