yesterday, my SV had a bit of driveline slippage a couple times, so on my way back home from riding I stopped at Rochester Motorsports, had them take a quick look.
what they discovered, I got almost no teeth on my front sprocket. they ordered up a set of sprockets & chain, when it comes in they will call me and put them right on, I'm also gonna have them do my 45k valve adjustment, in the meantime I gotta be careful on my accelerations:-(

yup, original sprockets 44,020mi as of today, chain has been replaced twice, at 17k & 29k(I also installed my Scottoiler @29k), both times, after inspection, Rochester Motorsports said no need to replace sprockets. rear sprocket still looks perfect as does the chain with 15k, but the whole set is getting replaced this time.
I have decided after my 350mile 2up ride today that I will park the SV till the parts come in, the teeth (whats left of them are at least 1mm shorter than they were this morning, all that is left are points that stick out about 2mm, no it didn't slip all day and I have a hard time believing that myself

Looks like I'll be bikeless this weekend, chain is in, rear sprocket is in, but the front sprocket(the one I need the most) still hasn't arrived, damn Suzuki, the 2 parts that are in are aftermarket, but front sprocket seems to be only available thru Suzuki.![]()

I'm back on the road, when I sprocket didn't arrive a week ago when it shoulda, or this past monday at the latest, the dealer started to check into things further, turns out the sprocket is backordered won't get here till the 1st of september, musta been backordered all the way to J.A. Pan. on the bright side we discovered that its the same sprocket as any other suzuki with a 525 chain, but everybody we called was out of stock. But I was able to get one one tooth larger so I took it rather than go bikeless for the next 3 weeks.
Just riding a few miles this afternoon with slightly taller gearing, I actually prefer it. I also had them put the shifter back on with a GP shit pattern, I like it, but it will take some time to get used to.

Hey Randy, could you exlain to me what a GP shit pattern is? Thanks
Yamaha
upside down, 1st gear lift up with toe from neutral, that way when you want to shift up coming out of an increasing radius turn, you just click it down, instead of trying to sqweeze your toe between the pavement and shifter. you should never have to downshift when your leaned that far over, I've kinda had a problem with that on a nearby road that was recently paved,

So if you had to SHIT coming out of a turn it would not be a problem?Do you need special leathers or regular ones would do?
