what do i need to know about storing my bike over the winter??
things like tires up off the ground? should i have less, then more of gas in the tank? do i start her up every month?
it will be garaged, but not well insulated.
Take your life in your own hands, and what happens? A terrible thing: no one to blame.
Fuckin pussy. Why you putting the thing away? You can ride that shit year round.

The only prep I do is Stabil in the tank, fresh oil (depending on how many miles on the oil in the pan), hook it up to a Battery Tender and put it up on front and rear stands.
Not rocket science.
If you don't have stands, put something between the wheels and the concrete/asphalt that it's parked on. I've used a couple layers of corrugated cardboard.
Fill tank
Drain carbs (or fuel lines)
Tires off the concrete
Remove battery and into a warm place (like your vagine)
Better yet, pick up some heated gear and ride that shit y0!
Best advice, move all your furniture outside to the cold garage/shed and put bikes in living room![]()

winterizing tips
make sure electrical is up to snuff, have pigtail for battery tender & heated gear installed, install heated grips, run knobby tires, use occasional oz or 2 of Isopropyl type fuel conditioner
clean chain & brake calipers after every ride
plug battery tender in the nite before a planned ride
dress warm, have fun
COLD AIR = FREE HORSE POWER![]()

Randy, I like your style.
One cold-assed day this winter we're going to have to meet up for some lunch and some riding.....and maybe some hot cocoa if we hit it off well.

If you can't be kind, be vague...
You don't *have* to put your bike away.
I use the winter to go through the bikes for the next season. That way I don't have to do crap to them when the weather is good for riding. Besides it is therapeutic for me to spend time wrenching in the winter.
My bikes have never let me down, even the race bike. I attribute this to taking the time to make sure everything is perfect and ready for action.
