Gsxr=love GOOD CHOICE!! and welcome!
GSXRs suck
I've been putting a ton of time into learning how to ride my bike. I've been going out almost every week day and riding 1-1.5 hours on rather windy back roads.
I really enjoy riding it
I have about 250 miles on it and I haven't even had it on the interstate yet.
What motor oil should I use in my bike? I've been reading around that it's important to use the proper oil because of the wet clutch, but for some reason I'm not finding what to use.. Are most motor oils safe? Do most people run synthetic or no?
Mobil1 10-40 synthetic ok?
Castrol 10-40 conventional?
Or is it specific enough that I should go to the dealer?
What does your owners manual say? You do not need to go to the dealer.

It says "Use and API classification of SF or SG oil with SAE 10w/40 viscosity".
The API classification doesn't mean anything to me though..

Look on the oil label. You should see the rating on there.
Wiki
API service classes
The API service classes[8] have two general classifications: S for "service" (originating from spark ignition) (typical passenger cars and light trucks using gasoline engines), and C for "commercial" (originating from compression ignition) (typical diesel equipment). Engine oil which has been tested and meets the API standards may display the API Service Symbol (also known as the "Donut") with the service designation on containers sold to oil users.[8]
Note that the API oil classification structure has eliminated specific support for wet-clutch motorcycle applications in their descriptors, and API SJ and newer oils are referred to be specific to automobile and light truck use. Accordingly, motorcycle oils are subject to their own unique standards.
The latest API service standard designation is SM for gasoline automobile and light-truck engines. The SM standard refers to a group of laboratory and engine tests, including the latest series for control of high-temperature deposits. Current API service categories include SM, SL and SJ for gasoline engines. All previous service designations are obsolete, although motorcycle oils commonly still use the SF/SG standard.

I found motorcycle oil that had SF/SG classification.
Changed my spark plugs last night too, the motor runs a lot smoother.

Oh trust me...I could have gone faster with this car. Like I said...the car was barely shaking even at that speed. I was just starting to be scared shitless at that speed. I had to let it go and slow down. It was an amazing car. Too bad '98 was the last year they made them. You RARELY see them around here.

I guess it all depends how you look at it...speed limit is 100km/h. The average driver goes 110-115km/h. You're most likely the only one blasting past everyone going 100km/h faster than the legal limit...and a chick on top of it. It was fun while it lasted but...pretty damn stupid, as well. I'll put that on the count of being young and wreckless who should have known better.![]()
