i have this jeep problem which many of you are familiar with.
i am getting to the point where the sight of this thing doesn't make me quite so physically ill anymore and i almost have some motivation back to go get a few things done on it... so i can sell it one of these days.
The jeep started life anew, and i have a complete hot rod wiring kit for it. One issue i have been floundering with... for a while now... is wiring up the charging and ignition system. i have not yet figured it out succesfully and i have several different schematics (jeep factory manual, 1983 factory supplement, chilton, haynes, quick wire, etc... ) to play with and they are all different and i am tired of burning up components from shorts that seem to show up a few days after i leave.
any hot rod superstars around that might be interested in taking a road trip with me to deal with some wiring gremlins in an early ford type ignition system? The jeep is out near albany at my dad's house. i'll obviously drive and provide plenty of beer and accomodations and all that jazz...
once i get the wiring and some carb and steering issues worked out, it should be ready to drive home to NH.
pm me with any interest or for additional details.

You should just buy MY truck. You get a complete, running, destructive machine with a complete wiring harness (installed) AND you get a spare engine...![]()

To get it running and remove as many headaches as possible take a look at the single wire hookup alternators. All you have to do is mount them, get a belt around them, and then run a wire straight to the positive battery terminal. As for the ignition what type of distributor are you running? Non-EFI engines can usually run a simple coil with a switched positive running to it. Hope this helps. Good Luck...
