First, I'm sorry if I stuck this in the wrong section. If I did, feel free to move it.
It's a long story, but I've recently found myself in need of a roommate once again. Figured I'd throw something up here and see if anyone needed a place since there's already some common ground with the bikes.
Anyway, I own my own house. It's a 1,000 sq. ft. ranch in East Hartford, CT. Two bedroom's and one bathroom with a garage and a covered deck. The garage doesn't hold a car, it holds the bike instead. It has a full basement (that's in need of some cleaning which I'll be doing), central air, new carpets as of last summer and a washer and dryer.
I'm a pretty neat guy, but not to the point of being obsessive about it. I just like the house to be clean and picked up so if people stop by, there's no need for anyone to be embarrassed.
I do have an extremely well behaved golden retriever and two cats (the cats stay inside), so you'd have to be cool with pets and actually, it'd be great if you could help me out when I'm working by just letting the dog out and feeding him. I work 24 hour shifts so it'd save me the trouble of bringing him to my parents when I'm working. The dog also doesn't mind shuttling beers around the house either. As long as you give it to him to hold, he'll carry it wherever you ask him to. It's great when people are over.
Anyway, for rent I was thinking $500 plus splitting the gas, electric, cable/internet (the house already has wireless internet) and water (usually about $50 quarterly). It usually works out that it's about $625-675 per month...plus or minus a few bucks depending on where the thermostat is set and how you are with lights and stuff. We can split groceries or do our own. I'm flexible about things like that. And of course, another bike is welcome in the garage.
About me (without trying to sound like a personal ad, but you should probably know something about me). I'm a 30 year old non smoker. I'm usually pretty active with different things. I get to the gym regularly, ride, scuba dive, ski, etc. And of course, I enjoy going out for a beer.
I'd like to find someone that I can hang out with (since I think roommate should probably end up being friends to keep the flow of the house smooth), but that we can also have our own separate lives.
Anyway, shoot me a PM if you're interested.
Shane
Also forgot to add, one of my friends has been thinking of taking the room...but he's dragging his feet which is making me think he's not going to do it. Just thought I'd be up front that there's a potential roommate already...
Forgot to include also that I'll live with a male or female.
