National Powersports will probably be the most aggressive on price for you on a motorcycle.

Danro just sold his ninja to National Powersports(?) not too long ago. Sounded like they gave him a pretty decent price for it

Both in impeccable condition people continue to low ball me on both.. they tend to attract allot of attention from those without cash... And try to tell me there is something wrong with them to reduce price. . But you won't find a better example of either vehicle. I'm thinking just walking into a dealer will save me a massive headache.

Not sure of the Mustang, but the SV market does not take kindly to $4k+ bikes, no matter the condition, especially considering the stock suspension which is the single biggest value adder to an SV. It looks mint and all, but most SV buyers aren't looking for a cherry, they are looking for a cheaper starter/lightweight/fun bike. There are always exceptions to the rule, but generally speaking, in today's market, your bike is a mid $3xxx bike on a good day for the right buyer.

I'd check National Powersports, but it's year 3 of you trying to get the same price (dropped $300 in 3 years). That's telling you something.

For the Mustang, just hang out at a Cars and Coffee and wait until a few Mustangs wreck on their way out. Then sell them a replacement right then and there

The truth might sting a little, but that is some solid advice right there.

Just out of curiosity, how low is low ball to you? Your ad says you're open to offers, and the bike isn't exactly priced low.

Have you considered dropping to the lowest you'd be happy seeing for it, and advertising it as a firm price? And if they want to come see it, they must arrive with that firm amount in cash.

I haven't looked at your Ad so I don't know what you're asking for the bike....but coming from a dealership, if it was in excellent condition and needed nothing we would probably be offering you 2500-2800.

Negative. He sold it to Cycles128. They are also aggressive with buying bikes.

Re: Selling Vehicles/ Motorcycles to dealers

Low ball offers have been as low as 1500 for the car and 1000 for the bike..... some people want things for nothing. nobody has offered me 3k or more the bike. I'm not being highly unreasonable. I'm open to legitimate offers. Just haven't had any.. and the price hasn't moved...because it's not an urgent sale. for the offers I have been given...at that price I'd rather just keep riding it.
Moving soon to a college in Boston and won't have a place or time to ride it. I do however have a place to store it....so while I wouldn't mind just keeping it... I'd prefer to see it go to someone who would ride it.

    absolutely solid,

top retail price on that bike is $3700 and asking $4500 cause it has red windshield screws and blingy turn signals in not realistic, sounds like it don't have stock rear fender either, you should consider taking any offer close to $3k, they won't get any higher as time passes

I've sold a bike to MOMsouth, and was very happy to ride in and walk out with a check. I took a hit of maybe 5-10% off the max retail I could've gotten, but I'm done with Craiglist BS. What's your time worth? I was selling a liter bike, so that probably made things easier.

Damnit, forgot about the red windshield screws.Gotta account for them.

    Price is now 4700!

But seriously, the topic, and question posed was about sales to dealerships....thank you to those who read the question.

You are better off selling privately if $$ is your goal. Dealerships typically offer far less than you can easily get for it privately.

List it around 9:00am on Craigslist next Saturday with your new price. That's the golden hour for people surfing CL looking for bikes.

Freedom cycle bought a gixxer from me. It didn't seem like a low ball.
