Got out for a short ride yesterday with Emily. She was for sure paying attention when we were at PJ's clinic.. I had to ride quite hard to catch and pass her.. Like wow. She is flat hauling ass by any stretch. Drifting in and sliding on the gas on the way out...

Still 14" of glare ice on our lake and those around us.
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Yup. I've personally drilled holes on three lakes around me. At least five 8" diameter holes, sometimes more. I'll be on two other lakes in my general area Friday & Saturday doing the same. The thickness measured no less than 14" on any of them, sometimes 16-18".

Ice on my ponds has been gone for a couple weeks now, I’m still happy to have gotten in a couple ice rides this year.
It’s been a perfect winter for trail cutting, plus you can see where the wet spots are now and try to avoid them.

Ok, Back at it. The recent cold snap set up some great early season riding. The ice fisherman hadn't even gone out yet. Pristine black ice. I didn't drill, so I'm not sure how thick it was, but I'm guessing 6-8". This was such a sensory experience. Kan and I shared my KTM as it was the only bike ready to go. The person standing on the ice while the other rode was treated the ice making whale songs the entire time. Crackling, popping, singing ice. I could feel ken pushing waves under the ice as he approached. Felt like an earthquake every time, moving up, down and side to side. Crazy!
Traction was incredible. Perhaps the very best conditions I have ridden yet.

Well, that was a strange and extended warm spell, but the ice is back...barely. We rode on 4.5" of super clear ice yesterday. Was strange seeing the bottom so clearly even while riding. I thought we might go through, so we stuck to the shallow end of the pond. No incidents at all. The ice even felt more stable than last time. Traction was different. FINALLY got to rip the new to us 150. That bike is a weapon. The boys couldn't even really get away from me on the 250.
