been working 'round the clock, not much bike fiddling but got a few things in motion...
- rashed KYBs returned and refunded in full along with all the refresh parts i bought.
- MXT inserts, springs, seals and bushings arrived. they look tasty.
- seal driver from my old Zokes is a 49-50mm model, ordered a 48mm.
- busted my crap pin spanner wrench, ordered a MotionPro replacement for snugging MXT cap.
love adding MP tools to the chest, so purdy
- got the tstat removed, simplified from 8 clamps/junctions to 3. dig that lil nurple!
- also started simplifying wiring:
- removed speedo pickup
- removed horn
- ordered banjos to remove brake light wiring f+r
- stripping signals wires front and rear next
- also ordering a Sicass Racing Start/Kill switch to clean up the bars
BUT, the big bummer was.. .
black fork oil
after full disassembly i inspected the upper tube interiors and have the dreaded lower triple clamp wear spots. the OEM anodizing has worn away.
time to send the upper tubes out for hard coat anodizing. bish. was hoping i'd escape that but oh well.

Beta 200RR
removed a little bit of wiring from the bike last night...
4hrs in so far. tidying up cut ends, resplicing where needed and rewrapping next.
will post a pic of final loom...
Beta 200RR
i prob never will, been having a blast at my usual spots + an event here and there, that's all i can really spare time for these days ... i've been wanting to clean house for a while, so much extra wiring bundled all over the bike. feels great to finally get rid of it.
if i decide to go back, i can purchase the race loom for ~$140 and get the headlight, tailight and brake switches back. super easy conversion. wouldn't have hi/lo or signals though.

Well sorted, simple and clean.
You even might of saved a pound or so.
Too many toys, not enough time.
Love how simple dirtbike wiring is
But if it wasn't broken, why fix it?

yup, i'm at 1.3lbs removed so far without the brake switches included. banjos came in, will replace those next and add to the tally.
because it will break at some point, that's a shitload of extra wire doing nothing but taking up space. mostly two main bundles i wanted gone. 1. behind front plate and another strapped to the battery. i don't need any of the extra and didn't want to guess when chafe will rear its head. (most likely on a rain ride)

Just out of curiosity, did you explore just buying a pure dirt harness from another model to save the cutting/capping/wrapping exercise?
exactly. now i only need to lose 13.7lbs before the season kicks off. winning, one piece of plastic + copper at a time.. .
yes, Beta offers the race loom mentioned earlier but i am out of cash! the fork thing ate my wallet alive.plus i was into the challenge. it's not uncommon for other Beta riders to do the same if they're not using any of the street-related gear ... although there was zero forum instruction
i'm going to snap pics and draw up the wires in a diagram to help someone else down the line. super easy once you know what's what.
Beta 200RR
i haven't created the diagram yet but my buddy with a 300RR Racing simplified his wiring based on my notes/pics. took like a 1/4 of the time. i grabbed a bunch of heat shrink tubing, need to borrow his soldering iron to finish that project off.
awesome on the '18 RR! they're great bikes. amazes me that i still have zero desire to move to a different bike.
thanks for the props ... my upper fork tubes still haven't come back from hard coating but should have an update soon. gathered a few more parts ... just need some freaking free time WTF
Beta 200RR
finally got the tubes back ... have all the parts now, just need oilio
miss the black but these should be good to go for a while. maybe i'll anodize my clamps black next winter (?)

Cant wait to see it together.
I may dust off the YZ next weekend. Been dying to ride.
Too many toys, not enough time.
I got out there for a short rip after that.
You guys need to get your bikes together.
Does HVD shut down this time of year at all?
