That is a reasonable price, and a short lived style. The Street Rod was only made for two years with the mid-controls.

I rode a night rod once. At 6'4", it was an..... interesting experience......

I have an '06 Street Rod with mids and I'm 6'4". It is a comfortable ride for me and I even put club bars on which lower them to be more like a clip-on style/angle. Don't get me wrong, it's not a touring bike by any means, but still a fun bike to romp around on.

I never understood all the hate for the VRod line. People cried for years for Harley to come up with something different. They wanted a DOHC liquid cooled, better handling, torque thumping twin on the sportier side of cruisers - something that could handily keep pace with other "muscle" bikes. Harley once again got together with the folks over at Porsche and eventually developed what people said they wanted.

VROD Muscle was the better looking version IMHO. The issue was those forward control pegs that only work in the showroom. Trying to keep your feet on them while accelerating or at simply cruising at highway speeds is a hip cramp waiting to happen. I took one for a ride at Daytona and before I left the parking lot I turned around and brought it back.

Besides the couple years they were available with mid-controls, were the rest all forward controls? I can see forward controls not working for these, but that can't be what all the hate is/was centered around.

I wouldn't say it was uncomfortable at all, just an odd riding position coming from sportbikes.

honda makes them? The engine is the same but different if that makes sense. Don't know if its in the tuning only or if hard parts are involved.

Not very related at all. They are made by Honda, roughly the same years of manufacture and a V-Twin, other than that completely different motorcycles.
